Is it wild to think that if someone in this team could shoot free throws at a 30% clip they would be the GOAT for Illinois free throw shooting? I’m exaggerating obviously but man do we almost always leave so many easy points on the table.

If it doesn't violate any NCAA rules, Illinois should consider bringing this dude in for a consulting session, and paying him based on in-game results. Free throws are a result of good mechanics, muscle memory, and breathing/anxiety control. Whatever we've been trying so far these past few seasons is ending in futility, and will cost us close games.

I don't think our shooting has improved from last year. It certainly hasn't improved significantly, which we need it to given how bad we were from 3 last year.

His indecisiveness at this stage in his career is not good.
CH generally does not look to attack the post which is so bizarre. His decision making and body language tonight are not great either. I had hoped he had matured and maybe he will, but after the last two games, it looks like more of the same.

On the plus side, we're taking fewer threes. On the minus, we're 0-6. We're also, of course, 4-10 from the free-throw line. Nothing about that half was particularly good. I wasn't expecting this much hesitancy from a team with this much experience, especially after what we saw against Kansas.

We should he up 10. Missed FTs, Ty missed two lay ups, Dain missed dunk. Gotta hit those.
How about 0-6 on 3s. Hard to blame Dain when he's 4 for 5 and leading the scoring. Underwood did react by playing Dain more (projected 18 mins would be his highest mins this season, if this holds up).

We have a bunch of assistants, surely someone can put on the white coat and be our own Free Throw Doctor. What part of the Free concept do we not understand?
