Someone has to say, even though I don"t really believe it:

We have peaked too soon.

That performance is really going to hurt our season defensive statistics.

My thoughts exactly.

It's nice to see us win in different ways, I honestly didn't think we could run with a team like FAU offensively and yet we almost put up 100. What a fun game and a HUGE win down the road. As fun as this game was, the Tennessee game will be equally ugly and low scoring lol. Be ready for a dog fight in which we get hacked on EVERY play.

I'll tell you what, that was the most impressive performance I've seen since we went into Ann Arbor without Ayo and ran them out of the building. This win was effing exceptional and that is an understatement. FAU is 100% for real and not only did we play with them possession for possession we imposed our will on them to close them out. In gut check time, we did not give an inch.

This wasn't last year's Texas game where you credit some unconscious shooting. This was a full team victory and one that makes you think this team can make a very serious run. We're for real this year. And when you have a senior like TSJ and a senior like Marcus who can both get you one and have ice water in their veins and you have a guy with Ty's toughness, and CoHawk's defense, you do have a chance to win 6 in a row in March. Whether it'll happen or not, who knows, but this team officially has a shot.

Hell of a win. Hell of an effing win!

Was I the only one holding my breath the 2nd half waiting for FAU to catch up? I thought Marcus Domask was the 2nd coming of Larry Bird. I remember Bird backing people down and everyone wondering how the guy scored so may points. And of course TSJ just keeps doing TSJ things! What a performance by the Illini!

Excited for what is to come, but the sky is the limit for our team. We finally have crazy good depth. My Cubs did it in 2016....can my Illini do it in 2024?
