LET’S GOOOOO!!!!! Man, this team is fun to root for…infinitely more than last year’s team.

* Domask is a straight dog! We haven’t had a guy who can get a bucket like him in I don’t know how long.

* Shannon is the best all around Illini player in a long time. I said what I said.

* Hawkins is a bipolar player - spectacular and then maddening.

* Great minutes from role players.

* Tremendous coaching. Just kept exploiting mismatches all night.

Shannon is my favorite player in a decade. Probably since Malcolm Hill. Proud he's an Illini.

Love both of them.

Nothing going on recently is possible without

Texas was Lucky last year, this was earned ILL 🔶🔷
UCLA/UT last year it felt everything went our way in the 2nd half and that was the best we could play. Against FAU it doesn’t seem like we were lucky. We played well and shot at a high percent but it didn’t seem forced or unrepeatable considering how well we played this year. We earned this victory and it was not given. I am not saying we can shoot like that every night but we outmatched them tonight

FAU big could have been fouled out earlier we couldn’t get redounds they hit crazy threes. Some calls went against us

Since nobody has said it yet, I want to give a round of applause to Amani. He only played 3 minutes, but those were some tough minutes where he pulled down some big rebounds, made a big bucket, and most importantly made sure FAU wasn't able to stretch their lead heading into halftime. For a freshman big to do that against a skilled team is tremendous. Amani is going to get some big minutes this year and he just passed his first major test. He's going to be a good one.

Wow, just wow!!! Man I love an old team. TSJ is going to be the best player on the floor most nights. Domask was just amazing tonight, playing the old man game, what a pickup. Cap tip to Ty Rodgers doing his job, along with the rest of the team. If CoHawk learn his role and meshes this team is going to be scary good.

His rebounding numbers per 40 minutes are going to be real good. He has a nose for the ball. And he does the little things well on offense, too. Once he gets that defense clicking, watch out.

Yeah that’s what I was meaning. We were extremely lucky to come back and beat UCLA/Texas. But tonight we controlled the game and we deserved to win

They do not play defense, I was shocked they had no press on us! Strange, I'll take it and I'll take Cohawks great Defense on a huge man. Plus, his most important shot of the night the open 3. He may have finished 1-5 from 3, but baby it was huge!
I think their defense is predicated on their athleticism and causing chaos. Which they did at times when Domask didn't have the ball.

They basically just had no answer for Domask being strong with the ball and walking them into the post and then nobody in the country has an answer for Shannon when he gets up to speed going downhill.
