In theory, Florida Atlantic shouldn’t lose another regular season game. Of course, they also shouldn’t have lost to Bryant, so…
I think it has more to do with our quad 1 wins. I’m just thankful that we’re playing like a 2 or 3 seed right now.College basketball world doesn’t like Illini basketball. We never get respect. We have to take it. Just goes along with being an Illini.
Similar to when Illinois was ranked under FAU directly after we beat them. I’m starting to relate to them and may adopt them as my second team. What’s crazier is that FAU is ranked under Arizona
Yeah, we need Mizzou to figure out how to play basketball and sneak in into the top 50. That would help.I think it has more to do with our quad 1 wins. I’m just thankful that we’re playing like a 2 or 3 seed right now.
Exactly…College basketball world doesn’t like Illini basketball. We never get respect. We have to take it. Just goes along with being an Illini.
Even if we can’t pull off the win in West Lafayette…. I think a 8-1 January is very much on the table.
18-3 going into February and we’re not only in the top 10, but firmly in the #1 or #2 seed discussion. As well as at worst tied for #1 in the B1G. Let’s just keep it rolling fellas.
Because UConnHow does UConn, after losing to Seton Hall (who lost to Rutgers) and barely scraping by St John’s at home, not drop a single spot?
DeCock tweeted his poll & had Illinois #21…. Not sure why he has us as unranked on the poll tracker
I know Seth’s mom. He gets paid extra to stir up controversy amongst fan bases. From what she said, he doesn’t have anything personally against the Illini. Just a good fan base to pick on.Even Seth Davis - who perennially picks against us in the tourney showed us some love
Does he know what a buffoon he is? You could use this graph in a statics course as an example of "outlier." There's really nothing wrong with that, perhaps one way of demonstraring an independent mind. He's definitely not following the pack. On the other hand, he's sort of just wandering ouit in the woods alone. I think it's just hilarious.
That guy is a TOOL.DeCock tweeted his poll & had Illinois #21…. Not sure why he has us as unranked on the poll tracker
He also knows nothing about sportsOur own Scott Richey has us 12th.
and ignorant of stats and metrics apparently. he should be fired for not even having us in the polls. it's not like we're a fringe top 25 teamThat guy is a TOOL.
I mean, we had it circa 2006 … probably kept it as late as 2010 even! We have earned a lot of brand respect back, but we need to be seen by the whole country on CBS playing in the Elite Eight or so to take that next step! I think this is the year.Exactly…
and when we do “take it” we’ll finally be that team that gets the benefit of the doubt even when we don’t 100% deserve it…lol…either out of recency bias like FAU. Or better yet…
Maybe one day we’ll have that brand recognition/be a basketball household name… but that’s gonna take some consistency for a while obviously…not a Duke or Kentucky per se…more of a Baylor or an Arizona type of program.
I'm sure how knows how much traffic it generates to his Twitter account and the News & Observer website from our fan base...Does he know what a buffoon he is? I think this is correct. Illinois needs to get back to being on the level of Arizona, MSU, Baylor, or like Houston level. We will never be Duke, UNC ect, but we can be seen as a perennial top 10 type of team. That takes getting out of the first weekend as goal number 1.I mean, we had it circa 2006 … probably kept it as late as 2010 even! This can be said about most of the illini beatHe also knows nothing about sports
