Seeing ScUM go down to McNeese St. Gives my heart just a little bit of joy after the last few days.
The Michigan thing is happening too fast. slappy isn’t lasting the season.
That McNeese team is no slouch though. Picked to finish 2nd in the Southland in the preseason poll. 11-2 with their only losses at 10-2 Western Carolina and at 9-4 Louisiana Tech.
Former DePaul head coach and current Northwestern radio color voice Joey Meyer has passed away at the age of 74.
Tragic. I was a huge DePaul basketball fan growing up. Went to the Joey Meyer basketball camps. Very sad about this news.
Gonzaga drops a home game to San Diego State, which makes their non-conference slate overall (9-4 with one game coming up late in the season vs Kentucky) look potentially bubble-icious, as they have no wins against Quad 1 teams (0-4) and their best win is probably against a Syracuse team that won't sniff the tournament.

Agreed - never gave a crap about NW but DePaul is different.
Is losing to San Diego State an embarrassment? That’s a really good program.
Zags can win their conference & not have a problem getting in: I assume they will.
Not an embarrassment, just leaves them with no good non-con wins, and a weaker WCC than it has been lately (St. Mary's has also struggled this season and BYU is now in the Big 12). It's all meaningless if they win the conference, of course, but if they go, say, 12-4, take a couple bad losses, and don't win the conference tourney, their resume is very suspect.

Good chance they win their conference tourney and get in by default, but they look like a bubble team to me as of now.
0-4 currently in Q1 games & they were 48 in NET *before* their loss tonight. I don’t know exactly how many Q1 games they have in conference, but probably not many this year. The WCC currently has 2 teams (outside of them) in the top 100 in NET.
For context, last year they finished the year 6 in net and 8-5 in Q1 games. This year, they’ll likely be under .500 in Q1 games (even if they win every Q1 game remaining).

Very sad, but must admit my first reaction was 'Joey Meyer is (was) 74 !?!'. My mental image of him is still as a young man sitting next to Ray on the bench, and later coaching on his own. Man I'm old.

I'm KINDA watching this game and RU is just an awful team.....They have the # 2 rated recruiting class for next year's class but tryhis team is vastly overrated............they really really are..............
BTW , the color analyst's voice is not B$G level........

Prior to the last few seasons, Hamilton had FSU on a tremendous 4-year run, including a really good COVID team. Considering FSU’s a football school, Hamilton’s far exceeded expectations.
