Nowhere in his article does he mention that TSJ has never been in trouble before or that the case against him is sketchy at best.
Just cheaply fueling the fire. I L L . . .
Forget that these are the most idiot takes out there. None of these commentators have read the ruling and as for understanding the order this argument is pure nonsense. He won because his constitutional due process rights were violated and he was suffering irreparable harm by NOT being allowed to play. Plus likely winning on the merits thrown in. So Brad is supposed to jump on the bandwagon and continue his irreparable harm? And for what reason? Flawed logic irritates me especially when it is put out as gospel

And, IF Brad leaves..... we still feel really good that we can bring in an equal or upgrade, right? Sean Miller still open to leaving X?

If we make a run in the tourney, I would hope Brad and UI are aware enough to see that no change is needed or necessary.
Barring a colossal turn of events….Brad will be here for the next season and many seasons beyond.

Never ceases to amaze me how rollercoaster esque message boards can be. We just a few months removed from absolute outrage we didn’t land a PG. Now we’re talking about BU being poached.

Anyways, I think something that hasn’t at least been explicitly stated is that while this fan base is nuts and demands high results, it’s not anywhere near the level blue bloods are at. I think at most blue bloods if you’re not consistently (and I mean pretty much every year) in the top 15 and fighting for a natty, you’re gone. You might get a couple years, but there’s zero love lost there.

For a guy of BUs age, length of tenure here, and what Indy and other have stated, it would be an absolute massive coup to see BU leave for anywhere.

I think given his buyout number that if he does indeed leave, we’d have a pretty penny to through around.

At the end of the day, it’s hard for me to remember a time I’ve been this confident in a HC/AD combo. That’s about as good a stance as a fan can have, IMO.

He's the number 8 paid coach in the NCAA and it's been shown he can win a natty here with all the top 10 rankings. We had a huge NIL, amazing AD and one of the biggest fan bases in the country. Are the other pastures really that much greener?

If he bring Illinois a natty he'd be an absolute legend with our fan base. If these rumors are true, it's definately odd.

I wonder how much of the sleeper appreciation for the team is that “access” to the program. That’s got to be a goal for an up and coming podcast. Of course it sure helps that this team is a blast to watch and anyone that doesn’t see that doesn’t like basketball. Either way they are putting out great analysis and don’t hide their feelings. Didn’t agree with the initial thoughts on the offseason but they had fair concerns and owned it. Way better than field of 68 now imo. Especially for B1G content.

I felt these guys were always fair, even when they were critical of the program. Much better than that emotional bald headed dude that looks like a character out of the board game "guess who".

I know we’re biased to our boy TSJ but Gary Parrish on the Eye on college (Memphis) basketball podcast really got under my skin talking Terrence

While I don't think his opinion is necessarily outlandish, from a journalistic perspective the guy clearly can't keep his personal slant out of it. It is so abundantly obvious he doesn't want Shannon to play and is going to stomp his feet about it. Hear you loud and clear GP lol

His opinion is not outlandish for someone that has absolutely no details about the case and is just reacting to headlines of "Illinois is playing a rapist"

I'll be absolutely shocked if Brad is not our coach next season ... I think this is his last stop ...

As far as the crazy situation in which we would be in search mode ... Sean Miller is on Whitman's short list ... And Illinois is on Sean's short list ...

I talk to Sean pretty frequently and it will have to be the perfect situation to get Sean to leave Xavier ... (Salary, NIL, Facility, Relationship with AD, Fan support) ...

It isn't outlandish at first blush but you know what they say about opinions. So Brad decides to continue irreparable harm to his all American because he has the authority to do so and is swayed by some higher purpose. I am sure the all American does not want to sue his school a second time and the university does not want to defend another lawsuit. That is a likely outcome

Would seem like apex strange timing for Brad to leave now of all times... looks like he finally has "his team". I know it isn't a popular opinion, but as much as I enjoy Ayo (box office creep his Bulls lines most games), I never watched the Ayo and Kofi teams feeling like, "this is it". And then it felt like he had to stretch with recruiting, bring in some locker room egos to crack into the higher talent pools (Smith, Skyy). But now, it feels like everything is finally in place.

only thing I will say - foundation is getting stronger

but next year lose - TSJ, Domask , QG, Harmon, and likely Hawkins.

Thanks for the info. How close are some of the guys on the staff from leveling up? I for one would be shocked if BU left and in my perfect dream easy scenario, I'd hope we have the succession plan sitting on the bench currently.

Ehhh just depends on what jobs open up and fit. I don’t think if Brad were to leave or retire we would hire someone without HC experience.

Is Brad unhappy ... No ... Would Brad entertain other CBB jobs? Yes ... He has almost every year ... Outside of a blue blood or K State ... I really don't see how any program is an upgrade over ours ...

The importance of this ‘blue blood’ issue cannot be overstated. And this is a real sore point with many in Illini Nation.

The U of I can not... can not... must NOT evermore be seen by anyone as a ‘Stepping Stone’ program ever again. Not to coaches... not to fans... not to players... not to Media.

The Fighting Illini may not have the recent resume of Titles that a handful of programs we could all name have right now. But in terms of ALL of ball history... the Illini fit right up there with roundball royalty.

At one time in recent history – like it or not – the Illini were viewed as a Stepping Stone program. And we know one gentlemen in particular who ('may have') treated it as such and that still stings in many circles. And for some, many hearts were broken by what that action implied.

But the Illini have once again been elevated to one of the top programs in the Nation. And it cannot ever be allowed to slide off that perch as it has done in the past.

Going to a place that has personal or family history connections for a coach is one thing. Coach H is evidence of that between Las Cruces and Champaign. And all other coaches in the Nation have other such personal and family connections that would drive decisions about taking a position there.

But in terms of everything else being equal... the Illini Program must never allow itself to be seen as a Stepping Stone program to some (other) Blue Blood Mecca.

For if that ever happens again... the Illini might always and forever be seen as just a rest-stop on the road to a destination one would rather really want to be at. And for the Illini that should always seem not acceptable in any way, shape or form.

You are what you say you are and how you define yourself and treat yourself. The Illini must say, believe, and manifest that it is a premier roundball program that should take no second place to any other. No compromise and no exceptions.

The ‘60s anthem says it best.. “(The U of)... I - I - I’s not your Stepping Stone! No! Not Me!...

Here's what I can say ...

Trilly does talk to a lot of people who are plugged in nationally, regionally, AAU-wise, agent wise ... He's got a LOT of elite sources ... Brad being unhappy is probably what someone told him because of what I will get into below:

Is Brad unhappy ... No ... Would Brad entertain other CBB jobs? Yes ... He has almost every year ...

I was told last week and @illini0440 can confirm this ... Brad's agent was floating his name out there for the Louisville job amongst other jobs he would take versus would not ...

Skyy Clark won't be able to escape Brad...transfers to school #3

Brother , I have to admit I find it somewhat disturbing that BU and his agent are entertaining other HC'ing jobs.....Especially after Indy's post about what BU ask's for and what JW does to keep him happy.......

I don't want to come off as sounding like someone trying to limit BU's career decisions , but L-ville ??....REALLY ??....whatever their past accomplishments are , the stigma of hookers , strippers and sexual escapades for recruits has tainted that program for me.....

I guess my narrowmindedness wanting for BU to stay at UI until he retires is my mindset wants and not representative of reality in the college environment today...........many years of mediocre to substandard performance's by past HC's has put me on the ledge when I read about BU and his agent still putting out feelers.........it really really has........................

JMHO.................
