Not on my watch. I'll assemble a super team of donors from loyalty, ready to provide him with copious amounts of sandwiches, burritos, cottage cheese and bourbon (redeemable at the conclusion of the 2026-27 season). To hell with NIL.Morez bolting?
Casey Washington, right here at illinois. Transferred to Georgia Tech and came back.Honestly, it’s a legitimate question. It’s going to be tough for kids outside the top 50 to play much their first year in a top 30 program. If you can essentially be a free agent every season, why wouldn’t you just go somewhere you’ll play?
I wonder who the first player to leave a team and eventually make his way back will be… It’s going to happen.

Beach houses are for closers (National Champions). You forgot the most important Loyalty currency....
Wake Forest, not GT. But he never actually played at Wake, electing to return almost immediately to Illinois.Casey Washington, right here at illinois. Transferred to Georgia Tech and came back.
SighHope things work out great with bigs for next year but I for one think we missed it with Dain. In my opinion he was the most skilled big man on the court in most of the games he played in. He made an immediate impact often and was dominant at times. He has incredible post moves for his size. I didn't observe him being a problem defensively. Actually, it seemed he was our best post up defender who had the strength to body up against other bigs. I wish him well!

If everything plays out like they want I have a hard time seeing Ty starting next yearFun exercise while we wait. Just a wild guess given the fact all I know about Illini recruiting (and food) comes from this board:
Maddox
Ty
Storr
Hawkins (dream scenario, but he probably opts for 1) NBA, 2) Europe, 3) social media consultant, 4) football specialist in blocking field goals)
Garrison
Morez
Amani
DGL
Luke G.
Davis
Seems to be missing backup PG, but maybe Butler can provide some minutes there
Their coach just took the SLU job, so I’d say the portal chances just went way up.Dude can hoop, but I feel like he would just be a sideshow at UI. He should stay in the MVC or a similar conference.
No disrespect intended.
That would mean the Illini would field an even stronger team. I was basing my guess on a nod to veteran status as starter...and my feeling that who starts is less important than who is on the floor at crunch time. But your insight/knowledge is clearly better than mine (as my moniker suggests)If everything plays out like they want I have a hard time seeing Ty starting next year
A floor spacing 5 is kinda essential to allow Ty to be the player he has been.If everything plays out like they want I have a hard time seeing Ty starting next year
Love Ty but his inability to shoot is a big problem in him seeing the floor in the futureThat would mean the Illini would field an even stronger team. I saw that! Maybe if he notches up, he can step in for Burns atTheir coach just took the SLU job, so I’d say the portal chances just went way up.

If Ty doesn’t start then it’s solely on him. Great defense, rebounder, and hustle, but a D1 player that can’t or won’t take a jump shot shouldn’t be a starter On a top 10 caliber team. I hope he works on that because he has the rest of the package. If everything plays out like they want I have a hard time seeing Ty starting next year
Is the shooting something that can be improved, at least from 15 feet and in?Love Ty but his inability to shoot is a big problem in him seeing the floor in the future
Ty could be an awesome energy guy off the bench. He has all the hustle and defensive ability that we all appreciated from Sencire, but he is way more capable at this level. If everything plays out like they want I have a hard time seeing Ty starting next year
Were your kids good enough to make money playing a sport? This is an example of today’s portaling chaos definitely saying without saying it’s not about the academics for these guys. I know, I know, old fashioned, but I raised my kids that academics come first, sports second. That is now gone, it appears. Now it’s a business. Just sad in a way, but I get it.
Was it Brad's decision or Mom's?It was almost Adam Miller
Wondered this about many of them for a while? Except for Pru's of course. With all the whiskey talk, I‘m starting to understand the posts.
this has to be a bit of a yips situation, right? I've honestly never seen a guy his size, with some of the skill he has footwork wise, who has played ball most of his life, and was able to knock down a midrange shot in high school, become literally unwilling to shoot a jump shot.Love Ty but his inability to shoot is a big problem in him seeing the floor in the future
Ty developing a mid range shot in the off season is very doable IMO.Is the shooting something that can be improved, at least from 15 feet and in?
