Gotta maybe possibly help recruiting? Doesn’t seem like it who knows
B1G wins in the past 3 yrs: 12This is a make or break year for Bielema. Not getting it done on the recruiting trail and this year's team projects for 4-5 wins.
Seems like a lot of people forget that these young men are still in the developmental stages of the game. College is where they start separating the men from the boys. Not high school.Recruiting rankings of our most recent NFL draft picks:
Witherspoon (zero stars)
Martin ️️️84
S. Brown ️️️84
C. Brown️️️84
Newton ️️️ 86
Reiman (zero stars)
Adams️️️84
Washington ️️️83
My conclusions:
(1) rankings are questionable, or
(2) Bret’s staff is pretty good at development, or
(3) a little of both

Without getting into any broader narrative conclusions, I feel like you have to mention the Lovie admin's scouting, especially defensively.Recruiting rankings of our most recent NFL draft picks:

Agreed. Not many have been in the Illini sweet spot. Either much higher or lower rated.Racki isn’t telling kids not to come here. Look at where their players have gone. We have also passed on several of their players over the years.
I saw today that Tobe is going to Georgia Tech and now Andrew Dennis is hitting the portal..... Color me pretty worried....
Naz is middle of the pack academically. Clearly behind the Catholic options like Fenwick, Benet and St Ignatiusyeah, imagine a HS kid, particularly from a good academic school, choosing Stanford
we never get Naz players until we do. gotta shoot our shot (same holds for everywhere)
sure, it's frustrating. but some are not factoring in the abyss we're climbing out of
Probably on the fence about coming here in the first place and didn't enjoy spring ball. Happens to college kids all the time. Not going to read too much into this. Would rather lose someone who doesn't want to be here instead of holding the scholarship for the year and then losing him to the portalHmm, was this a tempering issue or something more going on?
Homesick possibly…..and a better payday by MSU perhaps. Both are just jokes as I have no info.Well this is a disaster, no other way to spin it. How on earth could this kid already lose interest in wanting to be here?
