I believe so, I think they called that they made an illegal forward pass in their end zone to end the game which is a safety.
How did they get all the way back into their end zone from, what I thought was the 40 or so? Just a bunch of crazy laterals losing them 40ish yards?

Great win. Emotions all over the map. Our fg kicker has a great leg. No wind that was good. Altmeyer to Bryant touchdown baby.

So, it was pretty close in my opinion, but I do think the final replay showed just barely enough to overturn it. It would almost be like if that play was the definition in the handbook of what is just enough to overturn a play. Still, if this was Michigan, the play would've been call stands, Michigan ball.

Don't know if it's been said yet but that's two years in a row a team with Athan Kaliakmanis at QB has lost to Illinois in the final minute in unbelievable fashion.

I do have to ask......what is Schiano thinking calling that time out? He gave BB the read that our kicker didn't have the leg, which made us go for it on 4th down. Wow!
The only thing I can think is that maybe he called it as a check to see if we had a fake lined up.

At least, that's what I would say afterwards.

That wasn't my reaction at the time, and upon further review, I don't think Bryant took any unnecessary risks. As soon as he cuts right he's got the ability to get out of bounds at the very least, lots of green grass in front of him.
This is exactly right. I was listening to the radio. When I saw a clip of the final play it was clear that PB saw for a fact he could get to the sidelines with extra yards, then he saw daylight upfield along the sideline and kept running. Definitely NOT a selfish or risky play. That was just great play making, great read. Heckuva gutsy throw by Luke.

By the way, I loved Barnhart’s call on that play. He was as stunned as everyone listening. You could hear the YHGTBFKM in his voice.

This play reminds me so much of the Rooks around right end against Ohio State in 1983. Play happened right in front of me. Trudeau hands offf to Rooks who quickly gets to the second level. I start yelling score! SCORE!!! SCORE!!!! He evades a potential tackler and finds the endzone. I'm yelling OMG!!! OMG!!! OMG!!!!!!. Stadium is going NUTS!!!! OMG!!!!!! I'm getting light headed from the exhilaration. The greatest memory of my 63 years as an Illini fan. Today's experience is right up there with it including the same yelling.
Were you in the hotshot for that game? Do were we!!! One of my top 5 Illini moments of games I witnessed in my life! 🧡 💙
