-There should be some good games on the 7a and 8a sides.
-ESL just absolutely detroyed Chatham. Still looking forward to a potential matchup against Cary(Grove).
-5a should be a pretty good semi final. I see Naz moving relatively easily which will set up a great final no matter who they play.
-Don't know a ton about 4a, I'm going with a Coal city vs Normal uni in the final. Chicago DePaul seems pretty good.
-Montini v Wilmington should be a good game. If Montini plays like they did today, Wilmington will win. I expect a different Bronco team. Tolono and Monticello in the other match up.
-1a and 2a seems to be the only two brackets that were seeded properly. Is Maroa and Lena-Winslow the best programs regardless of class?

Some good match-ups involving central Illinois schools in the semis. Lena-Winslow at LeRoy and Camp Point Central at Althoff in 1A. Maroa-Forysth at Johnston City in 2A. Tolono Unity at Monticello in 3A. Mt. Zion at U-High in 4A.

If U-High wins in 4A, they'll play for the state title on their home field.

8a semi finals will be very good

York vs Naperville central
Loyola vs LWE
I'm pulling for the York Dorks. I have a lot of alum friends and know the cheer coach pretty well. Those 4 teams are good.

They have a very good team. Very big and fast. IU commit Garret Reese is an Elmhurst kid, so is Gumino who’s committed to ucla. With 3 straight 8a semi finals I would imagine it will hurt Iccp with recruiting locally. With the success of the program kids will be staying in town for hs

Montinin with a very ho-hum win over Princeton in 3A. 24-7 and it didn't need to be that close. The offensive playcalling has been not too good as of late. They play this uninspired next week, they will go down.
Thinking about driving down to Palos to watch bis-henn/Chicago christian.
BHRA scored on the 4th play of the game and the last play of the game, but the middle 45 minutes was all Chicago Christian tonight.

Sets up a 2A semifinal between two first-time semifinalists in Farmington next Saturday.

IC had a run for a while. Looked like there was no stopping that train. York must have a good crop of athletes across many sports. I think their baseball has been pretty hot along with bball.

Baseball has been very good, volleyball also took 2nd in state last year. The 6’7 te also started on the volleyball team.

Iccp got a tough draw with their division in the ccl and they are stuck in the same division next year. The program was down a little bit this year but if they would’ve gotten in the playoffs they would be a contender

You are right. Their conference is rough for them. That loss they had to Ignatius was terrible and what probably cost them a spot.

They're certainly the most consistently good programs, yes. The 1A Northern bracket always has a portion of it as a mini-tournament involving the Northwest Upstate Illini Conference teams that qualify.
The LeRoy/Lena game should be good

they’re a school of about 300 kids and the entire program is like 50 kids. It’s hard to play 7 and 8a schools weekly.

And I have heard the scholarships have been cut down quite a bit from a few years ago when most of the IC starters were attending for free.

No kids are attending for free I can guarantee you that. I know the program very well and know how low they can get the tuition. Whats hurt them is St Pats has started recruiting 2 youth problems that Iccp has locked down. The between 2027 and 2028 classes st pats has around 15 kids from those programs. A couple years ago they would’ve all went to Iccp.

The other thing that hurts is the demographics of all the surrounding towns has changed a lot. Even Proviso East is over 50% Hispanic now so their are less kid playing football

Easy, easy money for Montini today in 3a. They had a nice little flyover today and they emptied the cache of fireworks. Fun stuff for the kids. As the fireworks were going off I see Pat Bryant with a miracle. Just awesome. Looks like Cary Grove was taken down today by Geneva.

Not really shocked Geneva won. CG best player has missed most of this season. It’s their stud fb from last year
