Lol...when your opponent drives the ball for 20+ minutes TOP....your defense isn't doing its job.

They are lucky NW has been terrible in the RZ. That's all it is. Our D is getting pushed around.

We need an opening drive of 7+ min of Laughery and McCray and a sprinkle of Valentine.

Edit: maybe "pushed around" is an overreaction. I digress.....they have made plays when they need to, but are giving up way too many 3rd down plays.

The biggest thing we needed to control was turn overs and we didn't do that. Without the turnovers we are probably up at least 21 - 3.

Also, please stop trying to pass when Love is in the backfield. He just refuses to block.

60 years of watching Illinois football will cause a little despair sometimes.

The saving grace is they're keeping their offense out of the endzone. Even if it's mostly just Northwestern not having a good offense, lol.
Where would NU be if they have a mediocre offense? Plus I’ve been being told how bad northwestern is overall. Should I have believed it? Which team makes the better halftime adjustments?

As bad as the run defense and lack of QB pressure have been, the Defense yielded only 3 points the first half. I look for the Illini to exert their will and win this one by double digits.

After the halftime thrashing from Bert, I think this second half will be MUCH better!

Well NW has gotten blown out in quite a few Big 10 games.

Wash- 24-5
IU. 41-24
WI 23-3
Iowa 40-14
Ohio State 31-7
Michigan 50-6

Their offense is the worst in the Big 10

Elzy has hardly played this year. You’d think a game in Chicago he’s get in but they must think Dixon and Kapka Jones are better

1 thing I've noticed with this team is our "tail of two halves" nature. We almost always suck the first half and then we make adjustments and do better in the second half. It doesn't bode well for our in-game adjustments but hopefully its true for this game and we start to pull away.
