GA got bailed out early with the 4th down pass interference that kept their drive going with 8 minutes left. 90% of the time, the refs would let that reach go without a call, but they gave it to them. Incredible game --feel bad for the side that doesn't win those kinds of games. 8 OTs they should just let it stay a tie.

GA Tech deserved it way more and played better IMHO. Just shot themselves in the foot and refs sure didn't help.

The tip on the defensive interference cost GT. Refs missed it. UGA got lucky

Disclaimer: I don't care about either team (though I'm always a sucker for an upset of NCAA darling).

UGA was not lucky; it had the refs on its side doing all they can to help them win.

In addition to that BS PI call that gave UGA fresh set of downs (it was weak call, even if one discount the fact that the ball was tipped), the refs "missed" the blatant targeting call (a textbook targeting, with the defender putting his head down and leading with the crown of the helmet) with the back ref staring straight at the play, then "missed" multiple blatant holdings calls by the UGA OL on multiple down on the ensuing drive after the fumble recovery allowing UGA to tie the game.

Having said that, GT did panic to help give the game away. They went to prevent defense (which fails 90% of the team) after scoring their last TD in regulation to go up 14 pt. Also, in 7th OT, after the rare penalty on UGA that put GT on the 1 yd line, it was idiotic for them to try QB run (that was great point for fake run and pass--in fact 2-3 GT receivers were completely open in the end zone).

You could see the GT QB's helmet move from the impact to his facemask. Ball came out at that point.
for all the micro obsession that's taken on catch/no catch or int calls that are then reversed (ie, not 'clear and obvious '), i dont understand why targeting cant be a challengeable event.

Michigan has a great shot to win. Too bad it won’t cost Ohio State a playoff spot.

The SEC doesn’t seem as dominant as in years past

A&M lost to ND
UGA didn’t look better than GT
A good Clemson team is beating USC

Either the ACC is a lot better than previous years or there are a lot of good teams but few dominate teams
