Yeah, the 12 team format is good but the seeding system sucks. Oregon got a BRUTAL draw because of the conference winner bye system. At the very least, they should adopt the NFL system of guaranteeing the #1 seed plays the worst remaining seed in the field (though it wouldn't have changed this game without fixing the seeding system itself).

Losing to Michigan might have been the best thing to happen to OSU. They are on a mission.

I would say the 12-team playoff devalues the championship game, and the bye system values it only for the one-bid leagues, hurting the multi-bid conferences in the process (which this year was basically just the B1G and SEC).
