It'll be right at 8 million from what I understand ... Plus money for 2 vehicles ... Plus incentives ...

He'll be very well compensated... This is a legacy job for Bret ... He wants to be here ... Plus Jen is happy, the girls are happy and I don't expect him to even think about going anywhere unless Josh leaves honestly ...
Something old, something new, perhaps? 😁

I'll bite:
Bret drives a black Yukon Denali and Jen drives a white Tesla

Dave Wannstedt was on The Score talking about the Bears coaching search. Asked who he’d call be said BB. Don’t think it’ll happen, but…

Spot on. This game meant something....for both Illinois and South Carolina. Players, Coaches and Fans. I was there....incredible atmosphere. I get that like so many things in life, its all relative and open to perspective. But for the Illinois Fighting Illini football program and us long-suffering fans, trust me...it meant something.
+ a Gazillion

I could actually see fellow coaches stumping for Bielema. He really seems like a "coach's coach", and I remember someone (if I remembered who, I would happily give credit because I thought it was a great comparison) saying Bielema is really a football ops guy at heart compared to the offensive-minded and defensive-minded coaches that we usually think of. That's probably why fellow coaches would highlight someone like Bielema while the general fanbase would look at someone like him and dismiss the idea.

I agree with @spotter that I don't see the Bears placing a call to Bielema. I also don't think Bielema would be seriously interested in the position. But I've also learned to never say never when it comes to the coaching carousel.

Bret has repeatedly said UI is his final stop, no matter how long or short. I tend to buy this more than Self's "long haul" comment.

I don't see Bielema to the Bears happening. Maybe Wannstedt is just doing Bret a solid and helping get him a new deal/extension.

It's not happening. Bears are interviewing a gazillion guys and Bielema isn't one of them. To be fair, I don't see the fit for either party.

All you can hope for is that your current head coach will communicate with your AD about other job prospects and give you a chance to counter. That's also why I don't blame Self for making the move to Kansas, even though we all (fairly) were very hurt.

I’m at Sky Harbor Airport in Illini gear and Lovie Smith and his wife are on our flight to Chicago. Small world.

Not going to bother them though.
Yeah, the times I've seen "celebrities" in the airport or some other public place I generally try to let them do their thing. I'm sure they get enough people interrupting them. I would particularly NEVER interrupt a meal.

If the situation came up naturally and I genuinely liked their work, I'd keep it short and sweet - "Hey, really enjoy what you do on (insert context here)" and leave it at that. If they wanted to continue a conversation, then I'd engage for a little while longer. But certainly wouldn't overstay things.

Or Wannstedt is in the over-crowded sports opinion/analysis space now, and there's so much noise there that you have to say something different than what others are saying if you want anyone to listen. Which all too often means someone throwing out a left-field idea that isn't being talked about by others for the obvious reason that it is unlikely and doesn't make sense.

Lol...A fun review of a few celeb encounters over the years!?

Jim Brown....on my flight ORD-CLE...I saw him with his handler in the gate area and approached them to ask if he'd like to board early so he doesn't have to stand in the gate area. Coordinated with the gate agent and escorted him down the jet bridge. Very...very.... cool moment...very gracious and chatted about all the great RB's. Legend.

Steve Garvey....a little full of himself but serious forearms confirmed.

Eva Longoria...hoodie pulled over face didn't interact with anyone.

Speaker Paul Ryan....freaked me out in AUS when 3 black SUV's pull up to the plane and armed dudes come on the plane to search/inform us. He came on with his family was super nice and sat in economy with his wife and kids. Interacted with everyone.

Rev Jesse Jackson...boarded early with his handler...forward flight attendant was a brand new young black female who wanted a picture with him. He obliged, put his arm around her...and his hand dropped straight to her butt. I'll never forget her eyes/expression looking right at me like "OMFG WHAT DO I DO?"
Maybe he was blessing her behind? šŸ˜

Kate Upton...hilariously the flight attendants failed to notify me, and the final passenger report had her name changed (many celebs do this travelling publicly)
so I was unaware of her being on board until she walked off the plane in IAH. I immediately "fired" the flight attendant for not telling me...and I now jokingly include "required supermodel notification" during my pre flight briefings....

Rick Barnes....great guy...got a selfie since my (late) brother was a huge Vols fan

Mike Wolfe from American Pickers....just a very quick hello

Also Danielle from same show...she was very cool and chatted about show.

Several others with no interaction as well as just spotted at airports errrwhere here and there.

I met Roger Waters in the elevator at the Ritz Carlton in Osaka.

I just said hello. He said hello and that was that. I think he was relieved that I did not start asking him questions about which one was Pink, etc.
