Disagree. I don't think he lost the game (though the 2 points were the difference) and I do think his anger was righteous. But I dont think it got us back into it, either. Just made the hill we had to climb a bit higher.Underwood didn’t lose us that game. If anything, the T helped get back in to it.
Honestly this game just validates the thoughts that this team's ceiling is ridiculously high. For us to even be in the game with all the nonsense that took place is incredible. Let MSU enjoy this one, we have a hell of a lot more to play for.
But it DID NOT hit the backboard! No it is not. But he conveniently changed it to “hitting the backboard” during the pause. His original call was that he shot it over the backboard.
Our Free throws didn't fall eitherI’m so proud of our guys’ fight.
Officiating was disgusting.
No joke. I hate to be that guy complaining about refs but we got jobbed by the refs this game. They weren’t going to allow KJ to play.Tough to play 5 on 8
We did play through itFor the people going psycho this entire thread about the reffing, if Brad didn't follow suit....
I don't care how bad the calls were, you HAVE to play through it. If people weren't watching the game and only followed the thread.....they didn't see ONE comment about one of our guys making a solid play. Not one.
Tough loss, but we had enough, even without KJ, to win.
With KJ, we win by 12+Officiating was trash in the first half, and much more evenhanded in the second half. Unfortunately, the phantom calls on KJ on four of his five fouls probably cost us a close game in one of the toughest environments in the B10. Nothing to hang our heads about concerning effort. We have gotten better each month as the season has continued, and I am very confident we will be peaking at tourney time. Very exciting time to be an Illini fan.
The technical was not on Underwood.Hit our free throws? Win.
Underwood doesn't get teed? Win.
Less home cooking from the stripes? Win.
I'm bummed but excited for the rest of the season.
I believe It touched the top of the backboard on the way down & was called out of bounds.I don't understand that last shot by Boswell. He knows it's illegal to shoot over the backboard, right? Why put up a shot that has no chance of counting even if it miraculously goes in?
