Well deserved loss. Time for the staff to look in the mirror. Can't just roll out the ball....what a total waste of a top 5 talent and two 5 star preps (and a 4 star in Morez for God's sake). Just pathetic personnel decisions and who we had on the court at the end of regulation/start of OT. Seriously concerned about our NCAA prospects...not just winning but making. Not kidding. The personnel decisions are creating issues I believe. This much talent should not look like this in February.
This.

Whoever scouted, recommended, then decided to pay Ben a "big bag" should be FIRED. What a terrible decision.

I brushed off USC. I got REALLY concerned after Maryland, but I deluded myself into thinking beating NU at home could have meant we’d rebound.

Every single person on our team and staff should feel like jacka$$es. Not because ALL of them were negligent today, but because the T-E-A-M was. It’s genuinely difficult to continue to care when I don’t feel like we play hard.

I acknowledge the emotions of the loss are getting to me, but I can say this about the 2023 team … at least I always knew TSJ would give his all and call out his teammates when they needed to step up. What current evidence is there that this team will even accomplish what that disappointing season did?!

The thing is I think this team IS playing hard. They wouldn't be crushing teams on the glass otherwise and they generally give effort defensively. The problem is mental mistake and execution. Turnovers, quick forced shots, breakdowns on defense. I don't know what the answer is but I think part of it is just being too sped up at times.

At a certain point, the rotation needs to be a meritocracy. When Ben is bad, he's an albatross. If it's not his night, take him out and play the hot hand. It's not that hard.
We need him to play the 5 until Tomi gets back, unfortunately.
You all saw what Booth does at the 5

I'm not coach but if I know the other team has 3 fouls to give and I have the ball with 23 seconds to go in a tie game I'm putting KJ and Riley in a pick and roll and attacking the hoop right away.

If they don't foul then take the good look .....if they foul 3 times you still have over 10 seconds.

Instead we throw the ball all the way to back court

Anyway, we move on with seson on brink

The disrespect done to DGL in this game. Take him out in place of Ben for the final possession in regulation with the chance to win it and then sat him in OT. You play the best player to win the game. You ride the hot hand. What happened to that simple concept with Brad?

The level of frustration watching this team is equivalent to 2023.
Agree. KJ is an elite talent, DG is a huge spark, and TW seems to have grasped his role....but the rest seem to play the game at rec league level...out of control and without purpose or confidence.

I am sure these kids are trying to win, but just look at the deficiencies in assists (other than KJ), turnovers, and totally unguarded layups allowed.

Yes, every team looks good when they hit shots at a high percentage, but that does not happen but 20% of the time or less. The other 80% of the time, they must make the effort to do every detail right....but there are just too many blunders.

Nebraska won this game by having more talent between the ears.

We can do one thing well, at times, e.g. 3 pt shooting or rebounding...but we have very seldom done more than one thing at a time well. Tonight included.

I'll watch every minute of every game this year, wearing orange oskee wow wow gear...but ive lost faith in a deep run
I can't remember many games against real competition that we've shot 3's well, outside Oregon and maybe 1 or 2 other games.

Underwood, keep shooting 3's...last 8 games we've shot a scorching 25% from 3.. We are not a good shooting team and Underwood's coaching is borderline coaching malpractice to still tell them to fire away.

To the insiders.. I kept my receipts about some of us being "irrational" and "crazy" and "doom and gloom" about our upcoming lineup of games. I said point blank that this team is far too inconsistent and at Nebraska would be a very hard game to win. This is just not a very good team.. Maybe our expectations need to become just making the tournament.

I would transfer tonight if I was him.
