Go watch the John grove era and then come back and tell me you still want to fire Brad. Get a !!!!ing clue.

See I am not trying to call you out ... More so the group as a whole that continues to compare this era to the Groce era ... Groce SUCKED ... Anything is an improvement ...

This is the freaking University of Illinois ... The expectation is 2nd weekend at WORST ... EVERY. SINGLE. FREAKING. YEAR. Competing for BIG TEN CHAMPIONSHIPS ... REGULAR SEASON AND TOURNAMENT ... EVERY. SINGLE. FREAKING. YEAR.

Failure to meet those expectations consistently may result in termination ... Period ...

I think we have talented players who are doing what the coaches are telling them to do ... Which in turn is making them look like bad players ...
I’m just saying if we’re gonna say the coaches are making the players look bad when they lose, we better say the coaches are making the players look good when they win (the elite 8 run). It doesn’t go both ways

This, will keep us from making any runs this year. No way we make a run if we can't defend, and from what I see, unless we make a change, we cannot defend the pick and roll. We go over the top out by the half court line, it’s insane idiotic!
It’s like they are told to literally NEVER go under a screen. No matter where you are at on the court.

All I hear is "excuse, excuse, excuse, excuse." All of these guys, save the walk ons are being paid way too well to look like this with 2, possibly 3, NBA players at this point in the season. The time for relaxation is OVER! It is hair on fire, all hands on board time to kick it in the !!!! Period!

I am at a loss here: Underwood hand-picked these guys last April. He got the shooters he wanted, the positional size he wanted, the ballhandling he wanted, the skill he wanted. And he picked these guys, with the character they have. These are the guys Underwood chose. Warts and all.

I disagree. Between Coach Brad, assistants, and staff alone we are spending upwards of 10 million. ROI, elite 8 run has been the outlier. I am so appreciative of the turn around. With NIL, facilities, and money it's time to be truly great each year. My goodness Uconn and Nova have won 6 titles in 25 years. That's astonishing to me.

If you want to pick at the offense, I can buy to laying into the coach.

That said, we are losing games because of turnovers, mindless plays, guys ball watching, effort.....

When is the last time that you've seen a Brad Underwood team play defense like that? These players, though talented, have no bite to them. They don't have one guy who holds the others accountable. Not one.

This isn't 8th grade, where the coach has to hold their hands. When you see a team that plays well at home and falters on the road.....100 time of of 100 times it's a leadership issue.

This group is soft. It is. He coaches his teams to be nasty, tough, punch you in the mouth, refuse to lose, etc.....and this team, outside of DGL, hasn't adopted his personality. You can be super talented, but if you don't make winning plays and you don't leave skin on the floor..... doesn't matter.
I think people are missing the point. You have to have a better offensive game plan coming into this especially after the OSU game. Pound it down low and get some easy ones…play inside out. Instead we chuck 1000 3s, get way behind and can’t finish. Thats offensive coaching and it was atrocious. And bad offense in the 1st half led to a lot of easy buckets for Rutgers. Coaching tonight starting out was as bad as I’ve seen in a really long time.

So one Elite 8 run out of 7 seasons (and about to be 8), with no other second-weekend runs, is good enough then?

it was getting logistically difficult for me to get to the MSG game against duke but i was thinking of trying to somehow make it but theres no point now with how disinterested the players are... id rather see the the lackluster effort from home
Same here. After the Oregon game, I was really thinking of looking into tickets, but a family thing came up that weekend, so aside from missing a chance to enjoy the Big Apple, I probably lucked out on that one.

Brad too. Remember that trash offense he brought here that was gimmicky? That Tyler had to make a hard sell to get him to change? Yeah he stinks too.

That's what is so frustrating about nights like tonight. I can't reconcile the approach in the comeback against Ohio State with the shot selection and offensive movement early in the first half. How does that happen?

Can someone who probably knows a lot more about basketball explain to me why Brad had Morez parked on offense at the 3 point line late in the game when we really needed him to get put backs for us or lord forbid a nice pass to dunk it?

And then they pass it to him out there and he foolishly drives to the basket and gets foul #4
Didn't seem to be smart BB to me, but that's probably because I know nothing.

#299
Because Brad literally said he wants to lead the league in 3pt attempts before the season started and he’s stubborn as a mule so he’s gonna die on that hill.

Totally agree ... Harmon and Quincy played great roles as well ...

We were OLD and guys knew their ROLES ...

And what did Brad do ??? Abandon getting old and staying old and went young AGAIN ... After it already didn't work once ...
Nah. I'm giving the benefit of the doubt that he's building for next year to be the championship team.

But, when you have the means to be competitive, and aren't,,,you fail. *competitive is NOT getting drubbed at an 11-11 Rutgers team.

team.
