you think we play zone when we're fighting in a pizza lot park lot? NO!
You pick a guy out and you smash his face in, mano a mano.

No shot. Glad Indiana pulled it out. I’d be happy if Izzo never won a game again.
I won't go this far, but I am solidly in "misery loves company" territory as far as the Big Ten standings go at this point ... if we can't have a shiny conference record, then I want a chaotic mess in the standings! :ROFLMAO: So, I was happy IU won.

I know this, but why? Wouldn’t BU comment on another team being more difficult to plan for because they mix up their defenses?

I mean, I get it, some coaches (most elite coaches) play man, basically no matter what, but wouldn’t it be beneficial to at least throw it out there once in awhile?
Limited practice time. You want to work on the stuff you run 90% of the time in practice time you have. We are also much better man to man team than zone team. Also limited time to work on BLOBs and SLOBs which is why teams don't have that many actions for them just a few core ones they rin We've thrown it in as a wrinkle for a few possessions.

Angry Dwarf Week is off to a great start in Champaign. We took care of business with Mick Cronin, next up is Tom Izzo. In what's shaping up to be an epic battle for a post-coaching role as Grumpy in the next Snow White sequel, it looks neck and neck so far. While Izzo has already modeled the costume and looks like a natural, Cronin may have the inside edge with local connections in Hollywood. Stay tuned fans. Meanwhile, let's send them both back to their respective campuses even more unhinged.

After watching Izzo and Cronin last night way out on the court I wish one of our guys would run into Izzo and knock him on his toosh when he is way out on the court during live action. I don't see our staff doing that to the extreme those 2 do. All the bitching and moaning they do combined with being several feet on the court is arogant and annoying. Id love to see someone knock em down. Would that be a T on Izzo? If so even better!

Willy Wonka Oompa Loompa GIF

I think more Oompa Loompa than Seven Dwarfs, but to each their own. :)

I hope that the B1G realizes what a sh** show referee Jeffrey Anderson was at MSU, and wouldn't dare have him at this game. They wouldn't, would they ...?

Realistically should have won this game in East Lansing. We can win this one, too.
This is totally subjective and even more pointless, but I was talking with my wife last night about what our record "should be," and this is probably the easiest one to switch. We easily played well enough to win, and there is no way that you can convince me that KJ doesn't produce a net 3 more points if he is allowed to play normal minutes, lol. All in all, these are the only games I think should switch:

LOSSES TO WINS
L 64-66 vs. Tennessee ... I get Tennessee is really good, but we really should have won this on our home court. Silly turnovers late, abysmal shooting, a breakdown defensively on the final play ... change like one thing to be more competent and we pick up a massive win.
L 78-80 vs. Michigan State ... see above.

I genuinely don't think we've gotten lucky and won any games that we shouldn't have, and I don't think there are other losses we can safely say we "should have won." Yeah, we were missing KJ vs. USC, but our effort also sucked. Yeah, we were missing Ivisc vs. Maryland, but they straight-up punked us. Many would probably add the away game at Northwestern, but I think that was a true freshman learning experience on the road, where we just stopped being the better team when the pressure was dialed up. I also won't entertain any games like Nebraska or Rutgers where we dug our own grave early.

Even just switching those two games would have us at 19-6 overall and 9-5 in Quad 1 games. Oh well! We took a huge step toward getting officially back on track with the UCLA win last night, and beating Sparty on Saturday to earn an 8th Quad 1 win and begin a 3-game winning streak would truly go a long way to feeling like this team has actual momentum.

Indiana zoned Michigan St that resulted in a win at East Lansing. Don't understand how Illinois doesn't throw out a zone for multiple trips on Saturday

Well, IMO, we have to get to 20 wins- 3/3 in our last 6. I'd be VERY happy if we can somehow win 4/6 and end up 21-10.

I don't think it's possible for us to go 5/6 or 6/6.

Very good chance of beating MSU Saturday (if we do, that really sets us up nicely).
Try and get 1/2 against Duke and at Wisconsin
Have to beat Iowa at home.
Try and get 1/2 against @Michigan and home against Purdue

If we win 4, that gives us likely 3 more quad 1 wins and puts us around 10-11 quad 1 wins.

Make a little run in the Big Ten Tourney (win at least 2)

And there's a good chance we end up a 3 or 4 seed.

Every loss has the losing fanbase presuming the officials screwed them.

Totally toxic idealogy that has taken over most people's brains.
I completely agree 99% of the time. However, it has resulted in a counterreaction of fans in places like social media refusing to believe refs can ever play a role. The truth is probably that in the vast majority of games, the refs are not a deciding factor in who wins (obviously not saying you are doing this) ... but that doesn't mean it can't happen. There are plenty of OTHER reasons we lost to MSU (e.g., abysmal 3-point shooting), but the nature of KJ's extraordinarily questionable fouls that limited him to just 8 minutes in a game we lost by two points? That mattered.

Since MSU isn't a good 3pt shooting team, I would love to see the guards go under the screen sometimes. Let MSU beat us by making 3's.
No excuse to chase Fears around a screen and let him get into the paint before he decides to do something with the ball.

I don't. I want the same home cooking they had so we can dog walk them.
Bingo. Nothing would make me happier than an egregiously officiated game in our favor with a hearty win.
