Iowa won at home before sell out crowd and retiring their best player in history Caitlin Clark
We are on road at USC Sunday after playing at #1 UCLA Thursday.

Yeah, winning at either USC or UCLA would be a huge upset. I’m not saying impossible, but pretty unlikely. Would need our best effort vs their worst. Michigan and Nebraska are tough but winnable games, those two will be key.

Plus, Iowa had a 20-point lead that USC erased they probable became fatigued in doing so, but they turned a potential blowout on the road into a game. Love our woman but realistically if they make i game between UCLA and USC on their home floors, I will be happy just compete ladies and hold you Illini heads high :hailtotheorange:

Is Dolan eligible for a medical redshirt? I think she played in seven games, which is less than 30% of the season. Are any of the injured players well enough to practice yet?

Well we are 6-2 on the road and I think if we keep up the steady defense and three point percentages,we got a shot against anybody..

I hope both her and Makira are eligible..It would start our team out with a ranking.

Not sure if we start out with a ranking but we should. I have no doubt that we will be ranked during the season as we have been this season and Coach Green's previous two seasons.

This year, Makira is a Fifth Year Senior and Gretchen is just a Sophomore.

End of 1st Qtr - Penn St over Illini 20 - 18. Penn St aggressive & getting way too many offensive rebounds.

Illini over Penn St 35-32 at Half. Tough fight. Genesis with two fouls and out at 3:30 to go in 1st Half.

Very sparse crowd. Brutally cold here tonight and that may have a lot to do with the low attendance. Coach Green said at Half that Illini need to go downhill instead of so many long 2's and 3's. Also said need to block out. Uncharacteristically, Illini missing free throws! I think Adalia seems very sped up & over-hyped...

48-43, PSU. Penn State closed out the quarter on a 11-1 run. This is the worst we've played in a while. We can't hit our shots (33.3%), are missing free throws (6-11), getting killed on the boards (25-33), and our defensive intensity just isn't there. This would be a huge blemish on our resume.

67-55, Illini with the win. We close it out in commanding fashion with a 24-7 4th quarter. Credit to PSU, they gave us a serious scare and we're up to a 70% win probability at the start of the 4th. Merkle at 6'6", and with some width to her, was a serious matchup problem. KB rarely has that inefficient of a game, 6-14 from the field. Adalia had some key drives, but was brutal from the foul line (5-10). Gen hit two massive 3s in the 4th to finally give us some breathing room, along with her, Brynn, and Jasmine hitting their free throws in the final minute to extend the lead.

I can't stress enough how huge it was that we avoided a bad loss. Hopefully, we get things sorted before Nebby on Sunday. So close to locking up a tourney bid.

Win 67 55. Ugly first 3 quarters. Outscored psu 24 to 7 in 4th. A lot of timeouts called last min of game time
