I've been a Painter fan since his SIU days. That said, I'm ready for him to retire.
He's one of our guys, isn't he? An assisstant in Champaign for I think one season. Regardless: he's a very good coach, very classy. I wish him the best, except when the Illini confront the Boilers. Or Broilers, or Layers. Or whatever they are.

Let's be honest: If Kasparas missed that, everybody would've looked at it as a bad shot. And he missed a lot of those during the game too.

He'll miss some, he'll make some, but it's his shot.... hunts it every time. Whenever on a 1 on 1 you know it's going up.

I think the key going forward for him is to not be limited to that shot.

Will Riley was fantastic tonight. His steal from Kaufman-Renn with :30 left was a gigantic play.

Tre White…Not much else needs to be said.
Another great game from him.

I thought we were screwed when we went down 5 with 3:00 left after all those turnovers. But the team played strong and was awesome down the stretch.

This game meant a lot as my former company’s CEO went to Purdue. He laid me off after 26 years. So I can firmly say F-U to JM!!! Thanks for that Illini, I needed the catharsis.
Tell him all of us Illini fans say F-U to him for laying you off. We got your back!!!

It was nice to be on the positive side of a somewhat improbable seeming comeback win for once.

Also huge shot by KJ but he is not playing like a lottery pick. I know the NBA draft is about projection and they love big point guards but he doesn't look like a lottery pick to me right now maybe fringe top 20 pick.

He really needs to get stronger and more physical while tightening up his ball handling.

I also meant to give props to the crowd tonight.. Packed house, rowdy from the start, and in the 2nd half it was LOUD and electric. The atmosphere was night and day better than against Iowa. There's not much better than being with my 8 year old son, hearing the roar of the crowd, and making memories with him that I didn't get to have with my dad. As nuts of a fan as I am, nights like tonight are why I love my Illini-lifelong memories with the one's I love.

The foul called on KJ for cleanly blocking the 3 pointer by la-la loyer is the single most egregious proof that B$G refs are completely inept in their job performance on a daily basis.....and it wasn't high knees low skills ref jeff who called it but another clown in the roster of circus refs......

if we had lost this game because of that terrible call I think my head might have exploded.....it really really might have.............

KJ made quite a few early in the season but not so many lately. Have you watched this team shoot 3’s? we aren’t great. That step back 3 is a low % shot. KB loves it too and he rarely hits one.
Light and day better with KJ though (despite the fact he has missed some of those lately)
