Back in December, just before conference play started, the ACC went 2-14 against the SEC and everyone but Duke looked awful. I thought to myself "Some team in this ACC is going to finish with a gaudy conference record that makes them look better than they are, and they'll be a prime first round upset victim. I bet it'll be Louisville". And then the committee made them an 8 seed so it barely seems like an upset.

The big kid from High Point had a chance to make two free throws to pull the game within 1. He fired up a brick, then Purdue went down and got a bucket. That hurt. That kid didn't believe he was going make that shot for a second.

The crowd sat down and all Purdue since.

Those kids aren't awful offensively, but their guards don't even pretend to want to rebound the ball. They stand, watch and Purdue gets another 20 seconds.

Only if we hadn't won a game against our biggest rivals in either of those rivals buildings in 15+ years.
What does that have to do with anything? They weren't playing UK today. They had the home court advantage with the crowd, as expected, just didn't perform well.

Famous last words, sure, but this could be a very good year overall for the B1G in the tournament, putting aside there are 6 exceptionally good teams and none of them are B1G teams. However, there could be quite a few S16 teams...

- Maryland is in a pod with effectively 3 12 seeds
- Michigan State has the weakest 15 seed and weakest 7 seed
- Purdue got a 13 seed that plays no defense and a 5 seed out of the worst ACC in recent memory
- Wisconsin got the weakest 14 seed (though the best 6 and 11)
- Illinois got the weakest 3 seed and play-in 11 seed
- Oregon got a gift 5 seed and the weakest 12 seed (though maybe the strongest 4)
- Michigan got the second weakest 12 seed and weakest 4
- UCLA got the weakest 10 seed (and the 6th of 6 exceptionally good teams as a 2 seed)

There are reasonably 5-6 sweet 16 teams in that group and you could squint hard enough and see 8.

Of course, now that I write all this down, watch them go 2-8 in the tourney.

And I've acknowledged MANY times on here that they weren't playing UK. My point was more that they would not have some advantage over Creighton simply because they were playing there.
