A lot of these players you're coming up with (and thanks for the names!) are 6'1" point guards. Does that mean we are definitely looking to get a starting caliber point guard from the transfer portal? And does that mean we would be okay with a 6'1" point guard starting alongside 6'2" guard Kylan Boswell in the Illinois backcourt next season? And does this mean that the Illini don't consider Boswell to be a starting caliber point guard? (More of a shorter "combo guard"?)

I must admit that I've always assumed that Tomislav Ivisic would return to the Illini next season. And work on improving his strength and defense. With hopefully a healthier second season. But I'm reading speculation here and there that Tomi might not be back with the Illini next season. I don't know if they are hinting that Tomi might enter the NBA Draft. Or if they are hinting that Tomi might transfer to another college team. In any case, what are any of you posters, including insiders, hearing about Tomi staying or leaving the U of I.

In a similar vein, what are any of you hearing about Morez Johnson staying with or leaving Illinois after this season? I know it's all speculation at this point, but feel free to speculate away.

It would be so difficult to make the proper portal additions without having a good (or better) idea of what Tomi and Morez will be doing vis a vis the transfer portal.

Not sure where you are getting the idea that Tomi is leaning toward leaving. The vast majority of speculation has him and Morez here next year. If there is Ivisic related speculation, its related to our potential pursuit of his twin brother, who currently plays at Arkansas.

I don't assume that any specific player will be back. These are crazy times in college basketball.

As much as I am not a Dickenson fan..he is very similar to Tomi but stronger. Tomi is not an NBA player. At least not yet
He is skilled like Dickenson but neither are athletic enough to declare early for the NBA. Thats why Dickenson came back and why Tomi should too. Make more $ in college.
