11am has come and gone. When news?
You beat me to this. I just asked the question ony last post.I didn’t say he was gone … But I’ve talked to someone close to the brothers and came away with those thoughts …
It benefits them to enter the portal … See what else is out there … Even if it’s nothing but a leverage play to get Illinois to cough up more $$$ …
It’s smart business …
Many will remember Kofi did the exact same thing …
FI_8905 with the news. . . he knows . . . he knows! I just appreciate how most of the Insiders are chiming in and relaying the news--good or bad.Not a revelation, but there will likely be a change or two on the coaching staff.
Good. That is an absolute must. Not a revelation, but there will likely be a change or two on the coaching staff.
While they will be talking in a foreign language while switching on defense and setting up plays in the same manner on offense? lolBrad picturing having twin 7 foot bigs that will space the floor and shoot the 3:

I'll believe it when I see the official announcement. Not a revelation, but there will likely be a change or two on the coaching staff.
I may be in the minority on this, but I hope they pass on him. The games I watched Arkansas, I was not impressed and he barely played during their tourney run. Tomi is a much better shooter & actually plays defense.
I see Loyalty posts are like Lays potato chips…I dare you to have just oneAs of last night, both Tomi and Kylan talked with the staff and told them they are coming back. Tomi's deal is pretty much done, just working on some small details. Both are locked in barring something crazy changing. The staff is working their assess off in the portal right now. OA is getting close with a couple of bigs, they have a wing targets in mind along with Dix (decision expected later this week), and things with Sarr are still looking very positive. DGL should be entering soon, Ty still up in the air. Will see on Jake/Ben. Should start to get commitments soon.
I wouldn't be shocked to see Tomi declare just to get feedback, but highly likely he's back.

Hmmmmm, where have we heard this before?
Came to post the Big Z news and I’m 4 mins too slow. You guys are fast!

I think he has value but definitely not as much as Tomi, so it's sort of a cost-benefit thing and who else is available sort of thing for me. He has more value than Ben Humrichous to me for example.I may be in the minority on this, but I hope they pass on him. The games I watched Arkansas, I was not impressed and he barely played during their tourney run. Tomi is a much better shooter & actually plays defense.
You hit the critical point. There is absolutely zero disincentive for EVERY player not to enter the portal and see what the market brings. You can always return to your previous school, a la Kofi. You beat me to this. I just asked the question ony last post.
Given the landscape and the ability to be a free agent EVERY year, every player should go into the portal EVERY year. With a four year earning window, why not? It's just smart.
I'd advise my son to do the same. If all offers are equal, go back to where you were comfortable.
That's actually much-better stated than my post. Thanks for saying what I meant.I think he has value but definitely not as much as Tomi, so it's sort of a cost-benefit thing and who else is available sort of thing for me. He has more value than Ben Humrichous to me for example.
Love it. Sometimes you gotta remind the people that this ain’t no hobby for you!If you’ve been following me on here … It’s old news …

Well it would be interesting to see schools declare "if you enter the portal you're dead to me" and see how they do, like it wouldn't surprise me if Izzo said that. You hit the critical point. There is absolutely zero disincentive for EVERY player not to enter the portal and see what the market brings. You can always return to your previous school, a la Kofi.
Regarding Tomi, he would be silly not to get draft feedback AND enter the portal. See what’s out there and get Illinois to increase their offer.
That’s just smart business.
Having two 7'1" dudes that could shoot would be sweet. Has that ever happened on any roster like....ever? Neither are the most physical guys in the world, but having two would be a bit of a different story.Make sense for Tomi to want to test the draft and then come back to us. Still curious about Big Z and those rumblings of the two wanting to reunite. In Orlando we trust.
Zvonimir is a way bette defender and rim protector. He's just a lot more fluid of an athlete.I may be in the minority on this, but I hope they pass on him. The games I watched Arkansas, I was not impressed and he barely played during their tourney run. Tomi is a much better shooter & actually plays defense.
Not a revelation, but there will likely be a change or two on the coaching staff.
