It would be the best argument yet for Brad to use a zone once in a while, IMO.
Length does help in a zone but it's also a way to get out rebounding position and easy to get complacent.i wouldn't be against using a zone at times but would prefer we solidify our man to man defense along with possibly using a press more to change tempo.but that's just my preferences depending our new assistant hires I just want to see our team locked in on defense and force some turnovers

This is where I get confused. On the one hand, I keep hearing the money is there for IL, but then I also read that players keep leaving to get paid. Something doesn't add up--either the players are leaving for other reasons, or IL doesn't have as much money as is being indicated.
The other obvious choice is that Illinois doesnt feel they're worth what they're demanding

Money won't be an issue this offseason, the budget will be there. Z would be a great start. Biggest thing is to land a big time 2/3 in the portal and get pieces around them.

Hopefully land Sarr as well.
I think we could also really, really use a lightening fast, good D 1 who doesn't turn the ball over and can shoot 3's a little, but heck who doesn't?

I agree so much with this statement.i love sarr athletic ability is truly believe that was something that was missing this past season.you add big z and retain tomi add some major athletic ability along with some defensive will along with a knock down shooter and this roster could be very capable along with some depth especially at the 4 spot and watch out

Is coach oa fostering this with coach caliperi?

I didn’t say he was gone … But I’ve talked to someone close to the brothers and came away with those thoughts …

It benefits them to enter the portal … See what else is out there … Even if it’s nothing but a leverage play to get Illinois to cough up more $$$ …

It’s smart business …

Many will remember Kofi did the exact same thing …
Wish that was Morez’s strategy too…….

I don't much care for zone either, but am just saying that if we get the twins and want to play them together, man to man is probably going to be torched by most teams
