Not the Final Four, but flipping through my YTTV and decided to watch a little of the Crown game between Villanova and Colorado because reasons.

About 28 people in attendance. Who thought this was a good idea???
It's not really about the attendance but the viewership. If Fox wants to essentially transfer wealth from themselves to the colleges and students I'm all for it.

Someone either had some $$$ to burn, or thought they were gonna cash in somehow. Bad, very bad choice to try and make this a thing. Isn't it all played in and backed by Vegas $$$ ??? I guess they will find out that getting people to stay in LV for a week to 10 days is REALLY hard to do. I spent 8 days once and was going nuts by day 5, lol.

I just logged in to make the same point. And only was interested in this game because of my out-of-the-blue interest in UCF and Sellers (guess I didn't realize just how few games he played in this year)

But the crowd size when somebody shot FTs was eye-opening, agree with your post OrangeBlue98.

Probably my first non-NCAA postseason game I've watched since Bruce Weber led us into Stony Brook and got a W. Could have made the NIT Final Four that year if not for a home loss to Dayton two games later. (see, things aren't that bad now losing to Kentucky in round of 32 a year after the Elite 8 and with six straight NCAA bids)

I disagree completely. Maybe I'm new-fashioned, but I don't value winning the conference regular season a whole lot, especially in an imbalanced 18-team 20-game schedule. I can't imagine any school taking a regular season title over a Round of 64 appearance, let alone an Elite 8. His Twitter description does say "I am always objectively correct. Part-time troll" so he's probably being purposefully wrong to drive engagement.

NIT championship game is electric.

Why doesn't the UC Irvine HC use a time out in OT. He's got 4 and his team is clearly gassed.

Any power conference team that wins a conference regular season is going to the round of 64.

1. National Championship
2. Runner Up
3. Final four
4. Elite 8
5. Sweet 16
6. Conference regular season champion
7. Conference tournament champion
8. Round of 32
9. NIT Championship(honestly I could make an argument from putting this above round of 32 though maybe not as much now with how many teams don't play in the NIT)
10. Round of 64
11. I guess a CBC championship?

1. Natty win
2. Natty loss
3. Final 4
4. Elite 8
5. Sweet 16
6. Regular season title
7. Round of 32
8. Conference tourney title
9. Round of 64
For me, Id move regular season title and Conference tourney Title above sweet 16.

Not sure if the right place to share this, but I have been saying what Ant says here for years. It is time for the B10 to seriously evaluate its product and whether it is favorable over a full season for post season success. Methinks they are only concerned with getting the maximum amount of teams IN, results be damned.

Well, I agree but we were built for March and fizzled. Not sure how to reconcile

Counter-point: winning an 18-team league is objectively more impressive than winning a 10- or 14-team league, unbalanced schedule or not.

It's really a little apples-to-oranges because you would never win your conference and not make the tournament, but you are saying that a first-round flameout is better than a regular season B1G title? No way - hang that banner.

That guy's list is pretty close to mine as well.

That's part of the math though. There are conferences out there where winning the regular season only guarantees an NIT appearance. Even if I restrict this to just the Big Ten where winning the conference should get you into the Tournament I think of it this way: if I have a coach consistently winning the regular season but not any postseason games, I'm firing him. If I have a coach who never wins the regular season but sometimes wins the Big Ten Tournament and/or a March Madness game, he can stay as long as he likes.

Huh, that actually sounds a lot like our coach now.
