I think it’s important to keep in mind the timeline is really Andrej and his family/teams to control. He made a visit to us very soon after entering the portal and while by all accounts wants to come here and has a deal his side is comfortable with- there are a lot of factors that could be going on why they wouldn’t immediately announce

They might to hear out other schools to make an informed decision or out of professional courtesy of they have previous relationships there. They may want time to notify Cal and others so they find out from them and hear them out, etc. They may not have like Tipton tipping the commitment and want to make the announcement themselves and have it be a foregone conclusion. This is his moment, we should respect that.

Ian Jackson took a week after his visit to announce and he didn’t take any other visits , he just needed time to confirm, as Lville said this is a very similar situation it sounds like. We just have to wait it out and be patient

I think Andrej eventually comes around but have a strange feeling that Mirk never suits up for us… not an inside just a gut feeling.

Slower than expected news on two fronts, btw: Andrej hasn’t committed and Mirkovic hasn’t signed. Perfectly understandable that fans are nervous.

I was wondering what was going on with Mirkovic. Seems odd that he hasn't signed yet.

How could you like these whiners. Good lord they’re ridiculous. Major respect to you guys with info. If we pay I get the complaining, but these guys are unappreciated fools!

SMH at some of y’all fools…whining about free, privileged information bc it isn’t always 100% accurate…

We appreciate you, big dogs! Don’t let the fussy pantses bring you down!
I agree. It used to amaze me, but now I’m used to the whining around here when things don’t go a certain way.

I’ll be the first to acknowledge that I’ve made big decisions in the past where I’ve had a change of heart. As recently as September of ‘24, I turned down a job offer and notified my employer that I would remain and wanted my future to be there. Initially, I was going to accept a more lucrative offer despite logistical challenges.

Fast forward to December of ‘24, the company I had turned down reached back out with another improved offer and I accepted in a heartbeat.

Point being it was a tough decision initially in which I flipped. I have no regrets in regards to how it played out. I’d be surprised if most here didn’t have a similar moment in some aspect of life.

Anyways, let’s add Stojakovic.

Go Illini

When is the last time the Illini won a contested recruiting for a high profile American player? Sometimes the bags have to be about equal. Maybe some players are listening to the rumors.

Without the Adriatics we would be a mid major, and Brickhouse could rightly reclaim his starting spot.

Mirkovic is 100% coming. Best buds with the Ivisic brothers. Just waiting for his season to wrap up but he’s committed and will get all the legal stuff sorted in a couple of weeks.

I think if we miss on Andrej (Don't think we will) Jovic plus one more could be the plan.
If we sign Andrej and I think we will, is their a chance for another signing and is their a chance it is Boogie or talent at that level? No I won’t hold you to it and take you to the whipping shed if it doesn’t happen.

Call it some hard copeium if you have to, but I do think the staff has done a good job of laying a foundation for next year. Not sure we’re close to a contender without a star addition, but the rest of the team feels like a great floor.

Just close on Andrej. You wanna play with the big boys you gotta beat the big boys.

You gotta love amateur non profit college basketball!

This is actually worse than pro sports as there is no long term contracts.
Everyone on this board loves Illinois basketball, but I am thinking even we will begin to lose interest if the Coaching Staff has to go through this every year.

Does off-season excitement over the roster really bother most fans? I get why people hate the business end of college sports, but it's been there in the background our entire lives. It's just bigger, closer, and easier to see now. You get to see how the sausage is made

I for one appreciate the “Insiders” input. To be honest, in the recruiting threads, I just skim through all of the posts until I find an “Insiders ” post. I don’t expect you guys to always be right, but you usually are.

And to their credit, they're pretty good about admitting when things have changed, even when it goes against the earlier narrative.

Even the most confident post from the most plugged in person, I personally put at about 80%.
