if Ty's O has advanced to the point where his defender can't cheat, that would be good. really good. just getting to the point where he doesn't choke on very makable short shots and bunnies and, BAM, you have a whole new player

So, what's the starting lineup game 1 this upcoming season?

Obviously Boswell, Tomi, and Stojakovic are written in stone. Is there an early consensus who gets the other 2 spots?

From the recruiting thread:

Andrej
Mirkovic
Tomi

My current, yet incorrect guess is PnR aka Petrovic and Rodgers.

Petrovic, Kylan, Andrej, and Tomi all are very likely starting. The four spot will be the one to watch this preseason.
Last year - now it didn't play out this way (Ty redshirt, Booth being a total flop) - but the thought was we could go ten deep. This year probably the same deal (assuming we add one more).

The difference this time is there are 4 proven, no doubt starters that all can be 1A level options. Last year too many unknowns.

A look at our free throw shooting for the upcoming season. Numbers are based on the player’s previous season, or, in the case of the international recruits, the league/season that provides the largest sample size. There is no data readily available for the freshmen and Jakstys.

Stojakovic - 81%
Boswell - 79%
T. Ivisic - 75%
Z. Ivisic - 72%
Humrichous - 70%
Petrovic - 68%
Mirkovic - 68%
Rodgers - 58%
Davis - 50% (84% the previous year)
Jakstys — no data
Wagler — no data
Lee — no data

The obvious disappointment here is Petrovic. I’m hoping his percentage is a weird anomaly because he seems to be too good of a shooter to be under 70% from the line.

I think Davis’ 50% stems from a small sample size. He was very good his freshman year in higher usage.

Thanks for the summary and looking up the stats. KJ and Tre were really good last year I recall but haven't looked up the stats - Will was inconsistent and Morez was not very good. For the upcoming season's team, it's good to see that we should be able to put 5 guys out there at crunch time that all shoot 70% or greater.

This will probably make some people's head explode, but I think at the beginning of the season, Ben will start at the 4 if he is on the team. Ben knows the system. BU is also loyal to his returning players. Mirkovic (or Big Z or TY) will have to take the job from Ben. Ben is still working with Fletch and on his game. With an offseason to absorb all the lessons he learned, I think we would see an improved and more consistent player, so taking the job from him would be no small task.

I'm pro Ben as a player but he isn't starting.

I'm betting that in practical terms Petrovic/Boswell and the twins will be staggered, even if they start and finish games. Likely to have one of each on the floor basically all the time.

Basically the same as this past year with KJ and Boswell. They both played a lot of minutes so it was pretty easy to make sure at least one was on the floor and frequently both together.
