That's my hope his comp is. If he is freshman year Braden then we are good to go. If he is anything more then that takes us up top 10 levelBetter not sell Petrovic short.
Hot take…Petro has more APG than Brayden Smith.

OSU alum, Illinois fan (Illinois kid). Gundy is only doing this because he was told he would be fired if he didn't adapt... Surprisingly bad boosters down at OSU (wait am I one of those bad boosters? Maybe.), especially since Boone Pickens has passed. Believe some of Gundy's contract was restructured beyond his choice or opinion on the matter and was put towards fundraising in other ways funneled into NIL like the above post mentions... I know this is the basketball thread but thought I would add that context. It's technically not allowed by the NCAA for coaches to make contributions to NIL funds. A couple of football coaches have gotten around it by contributing to fundraising in other ways that can get funnelled to NIL, but yes, this would happen more often if it was allowed.

Mike Norvell, Mike Gundy lead college football coaches paying loser's tax amid NIL revolution
How to cover the growing costs in athlete compensation? Here comes a fresh idea: A loser's tax on coaches, from Mike Gundy to Mike Norvell.www.usatoday.com
Generally, no, because they are intended to benefit private individuals ($ to players) rather than public interests. Are NIL donations tax deductible?
Oh without a doubt, but he probably won't have more than Braden Smith.Better not sell Petrovic short.

I think we're starting to see that there are returns to stability over portal create-a-teams, and on that basis I'm buying Ohio State stock.Think Purdue, Illinois, Michigan, UCLA have the most talent … In that order …
USC needs another piece and they’d be in that tier … If they kept Claude they easily would’ve been in that tier …
A team I actually think could surprise some people next year … Washington …

Freshman Braden Smith was an 18 year old fresh out of high school. Petrovic is a 22 year old grizzled pro.I see a lot of TJ McConnell there with Petrovic
Same height & build, extremely quick, very strong handle, while not an elite shooter can hit shots and is crafty scoring at the rim with floaters, euros and duck-unders, looks to be a smart player as well
NoAre NIL donations tax deductible?
No. Much different.wouldn't be that much different than an officer of a public company buying stock in their company.
luka boncicThanks for posting, good preview of a couple of our players - count me in for wanting Luka B in Orange and Blue - good shooter, looks big ten ready now, will be 22 when the season starts, exactly the type of scoring off the bench we could use if we don't land a big transfer fish

IRS memorandum concludes NIL collectives are not tax exempt | Nixon Peabody LLP
The IRS General Counsel found that name, image, and likeness (NIL) collectives do not qualify for tax exempt status under 501(c)(3).www.nixonpeabody.com
No, surface of the sun hot is Petro also scores 15ppg and wins B1G POY.surface-of-the-sun hot. smith had 8.7 apg last year.
Lol, right, that’s why it’s a hot take!Oh without a doubt, but he probably won't have more than Braden Smith.
Not sure what you mean- the draft entry deadline was last Saturday. The last page is the International entrants and he's not on it, so he seems set on going to college this year. Any International player 22 or over is automatically eligible, but players under 22 have to declare for early entryThat’s an early entry list from college I believe. There’s a few international players on there (I can’t quite figure out why) but there will certainly be a ton more once the list is final.
1. I think there is a misconception that Andrej shoots a lot of 3's....around 48% of his shots were at the rim. The thought is having bigs that can shoot guys can't stunt off of them on dribble drives leaving the paint and the rim even more openMy nobody asked, no one cares, I am going to share anyways post:
I love the depth of this team, I worry about the defense and athleticism some. More so the defense as opposed to the athleticism, but there is concern for both areas. Ty coming back really helps ease the pain with that. Losing Morez hurt, because it seems pretty obvious this team needs a thumper down low, because we are tall and thin for the most part. Mirk will be able to hold his own, but I don't think I want that to be my first and only option to guard an opposing player, like Morez again for example...
I wish we could have this exact team, with Morez. I understand the split, I think Morez is wrong. Heaven forbid he becomes an All American. I don't think Morez has learned he is probably is not a current day NBA talent. Nor will he magically become one because Brad lets him shoot a couple threes a game. His strong suit was his body and athleticism, it's what got him to D1 basketball. Ignoring it to make the league, is just asinine, especially for someone with almost zero chance of being successful.
I am still holding out slight hope for Riley to come back. Maybe he just loved it that much, Stoja and Will?? You thought we shot a lot of threes last year?? This PG intrigues me, less turnover prone KJ and this years team is probably playing in the second weekend with a much better seeding. I understand he was injured, doesn't mitigate his turnover woes and how detrimental they truly were. We don't win as many games as we did without KJ either, but it was so frustrating to watch him at times, because we all knew he was better than that. So many of his mistakes were fixable, or appeared to be, and I hate that we won't get to see that aspect of his game develop in an Illinois uniform. KJ was one of my favorites, but I was hard on him. Still think he needs another year of CBB, argue with a wall, it's an eye test thing. He won't contribute for several years to an NBA team. To me, that = why not stay? Anyways, off on a tangent.
I expect 20 wins and a second weekend, and if our defense works... my hopes are higher for than that. Would love another big, or another scrappy defensive guard/wing like Harmon... Or a Will return... But all things considered, love where we are at... ILL
No money for it. That ship sailed. Actually, it sailed about three months ago, but AS signing stamped it.My nobody asked, no one cares, I am going to share anyways post:

That reminds me, Brad called to see if he can borrow your credit card.Me to my wife
They will be deemed eligible....just a matter of what their classification will be.(Soph or Junior)Insiders...any concerns with visa/ncaa eligibility for Mirkovic and Petrovic? Has this stuff been vetted already?
