Even tho you are a Cub fan you can't be all bad. Someone who uses their avatar to make fun of those cheaters is just alright in my book.

Another one run loss. Two runners on, no outs in the ninth, good defense on hard hit ball up the middle sandwiched by two strike outs out of the zone.
I need to just follow the Sox minor league teams for the next few years.

I get where some of you don’t get my take on Chicago baseball. We all get to choose who we want to follow and why. It's our right and choice.

But then maybe you didn’t grow up during a time when I did when it was Chicago Media and National Media who constantly kept telling Chicagoans and Sox fans and the Nation that only the North Siders mattered and hardly gave the Sox any mention. It even took ESPN a long time to remember that the Sox actually won a World Series in our lifetime. And many in Chicago hated that because it was the ‘Wrong Team’ that won it. But I remember.

Maybe some of us Sox fans get tired of being told we didn’t matter and that the Sox were irrelevant. Maybe if there were more fairness and the teams were covered equally things would be different. But they weren't.

And then there was the WGN Superstation on cable that made North Side fans of much of the Country. Just what we Sox fans needed – more emphasis on the Lovables.

It’s OK you don’t like my take. Just know – there are reasons for things.

I’ve been thinking about the timing and synchronicity of the very recent passing of one of the former really good Sox players – Chet Lemon – and the elevation of a South Sider to be the next Roman Catholic Pope. And here is such evidence:

Chet Lemon, talking about Chicago: “That city and that organization raised me... I learned so many of life’s lessons by being in Chicago.”

And guess what? These same things could likely be said by the new Pope. That’s what this City does. It makes you a big part of who you are as a person. And by doing that, you also help to make the City what it is.

Best wishes to both of these Sox-connected souls in their new realms.

Just for kicks I checked out the White Sox highlights on YouTube yesterday. I don't follow the Sox that closely. Other than Robert I don't know who usually starts in the outfield, but man did they look slow and uninterested chasing down the many gappers the Royals hit. Jeepers.

His brother says he is a Sox fan, his friend had said he is a Cubs fan.

The Pope's brother is correct on this. The confusion seems to come from the fact that the Pope's mother was a north sider who grew up a Cubs fan. The Pope's father was a Cardinals fan.

A couple of my favorite comments from the news yesterday involved someone commenting as to whether the Pope was at Disco Demolition Night. Another person asked if this meant the Popemobile was now going to be the new bullpen car.

Vaughn with a HR. Think he’s hitting about .275 in May with 3 or 4 xbh. Be nice if he can have a hot 7-10 days, while BoSox’s 1B hit .050. Maybe pick up a decent to good prospect for him from a desperate Boston team.

Elko is coming

Not really expecting much from Elko, but a few hits here and there would have made a difference in some of those games. Better option as a place holder what they have been getting. Might actually do well.
