Give me Hankins at No. 1. Instate should always be the main priority, and need another quality corner in the class. Getting and maintaining Singelton was never a realistic option and he was never truly "committed."

We have options at edge besides ashford. Jaylin Stewart hopefully is a realistic flip option.

If Wheeler is already a done deal, then it tells me everything I need to know about Barnett. You can't really justify two prep RBs with all of the tip-top targets and it already being a big class.

I wonder about flexibility of 85 roster target and 105 limit. If you have a larger prep class, develop over 2 years - if no playing time in future then transfer. Can justify more spots if team does well/ wins/ bowl playoff. ROI, then just continues to recycle.

The 26 class is going to be very important. We will be losing a lot of starters. Also we will see in 26 how the development process is going when young guys have to step in to play.

There is no “85 roster target”. 85 was the old max number of scholarships. Roster was always well over that # with walk-ons included. Iirc, the count was +/-120 earlier this year.

Now, 105 is the roster limit and the scholarship limit. Only question is going to be how many more scholarships Illini are going to fund? Are they going to fund the full 105? Partial scholarships are now allowed for football. Doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll go that route (Walk-ons still allowed)

Recent articles mentioning how the journey to 105 roster limit might end up being phased in over next year or two.

the 105 roster limit is on hold right now - waiting on a decision from a judge re a lawsuit

I gave this hint a couple days ago…he’s not visiting this weekend now but it may get re-scheduled or it may not. Don’t want to discuss the details on why right now but will do so after he goes through the process.
