Two penalties along with getting absolutely brutalized on both lines of scrimmage. Losing football. The lines and coaches of said lines need to wake the hell up.

I hate to think this way, but maybe we just are Illinois and will always be Illinois? I want to believe, I really do.
Our run game is nonexistent at best
If we lose it, it will be for a LOT more than that. We were dominated on both sides. Both lines have been an embarrassment. I figured the D Line might struggle, but needing to account for our O Line being crushed is a surprise.
I’m just shocked at how inept we’ve looked on offense. The line isn’t the best in the B1G, but it looks awful. And Luke has been playing almost scared.
Hope the jitters or whatever happened in the first half is out of our system and we can play like we’re capable of.

Need a bigger sample size to determine that. I'm more inclined to think they've been drinking their own Kool Aid and need to get it together
The first drive of the second half on both sides of the ball will tell us a lot.
Luke has made some good plays. The Td to the TE was awesome and he made the play to Bostick inside the one!. He has been off on a couple plays but when the play they run shortly after a timeout and they don't have a play that can be successful there's nothing he can really do. Coaches need to have some plays set up to help Luke! They were on him so fast he could not even get out if the pocket! No QB could've beat that rush a few times. He has to have a safety valve wr or rb to dump it at thier feet at the very least. He hasn't done today what he did 1 or two times last week. It's not the same thing when he doesn't have time to blink to get out of the pocket.
Not sure I'd use the term "luck" with anything to describe us winning this game with the absolute GIFT on that Brown play. Free 4 points that wil no doubt haunt come to haunt us.
If I had no rooting interest and if you put different colored jerseys with no school name on them.....there would be zero doubt in my mind that Duke is the superior team.

So, the ranking pros are telling me there are only 10 better teams than Illinois right now? College football must really be bad this year. If we are the 11th ranked team...well, I don't see it. Hope I'm wrong.
They are but man we blew a massive opportunity to go up by double digits by not getting that first down, keeping Duke without the ball and double dip to open the second half. To me that's 100% on the coaches not calling properly plays to deal what they should know Manny was gonna bring.
