I said we’re getting our doors blown off on the road by a top 25 team on the road with a short-handed defense.

Yes, having no defensive secondary is a major reason for that.

You’re 100% correct that our O-line has been a disgrace… but if our defense was complete, it would be more likely 27-10, or even 33-10. Which would be SIGNIFICANTLY less embarrassing.

But you can be right if that’s important to you.
Well, when the officials take out one of our DBs on a BS targeting call already down a player, what should happen?

The worst margin of defeat ever by an Illini football team occurred in 2018 when Iowa won 63-0, and in November 1906 when the University of Chicago also beat us 63-0. The only thing we are playing for at this point is not to hit a new all time low.

It was 21 but point taken. We did have our dbs that game
No, only 14 points was on the defense. There was that pic-6. And remember that at the end of the first half we were a bad snap away from going into the locker room with 14-7 lead. Penn State looked bad on us but nothing like this.

Honestly, this feels even worse than the 2018 game against Iowa, solely because of where expectations are now. It was embarrassing back then, sure, but a win was never expected. Wins are expected now, which is good, and why this sucks so much more...
