idk where to say this but we should try and get someone from auburn with their 30 day window opening up, someone who could bring some toughness
I'm not saying you're making this point necessarily, but can someone explain the "this team needs more athleticism/toughness" take? I get that for 5 seasons we've had a bruiser (Kofi, Dain, Morez) and downhill speed (Ayo, TSJ, Tre White...) but if you trust recent reporting, Tomi and BH have put on weight and Mirk is a unit. If Ben truly has made strides physically, I'd believe we have the most complete frontcourt we've had in years unless someone can explain otherwise.

Just as a thought experiment on toughness, would you rather have the 2022 frontcourt of Kofi, Coleman, Omar Payne and BBV or Y2 Tomi, Big Z, 250 lb Mirk and 240 lb (potentially) BH? Would you trade this year's roster for the 2024 Dain, Coleman and Hansberry? How about Coleman, Dain, and Matthew Meyer?

Looking at the backcourt, Kylan Boswell is going to be a defensive force, Stoj is clearly athletic/explosive in P5 play, I've seen enough tape of Petrovic torching defenders, and Ty will just be further sweetener if he comes back.

Where exactly are we lacking toughness/physical potential (especially compared to last year)? Do I just have rose colored glasses?

I agree we’re better now and I don’t necessarily mean a bruiser. Partly I want some revenge on BP and partly i think having one more stud could take this team to the next level

I don't think this can be answered pre-season, but it's very hard IMO to pick over that 2022 group just from Kofi and Coleman alone.

The only reason the 21-22 group isn’t a slam dunk for me is just that Coleman was a soph that year (5 pts 4 reb and poor shooting). If you think you keep him for 2 more years, then definitely.

From a pure toughness standpoint, I never saw CH as a quintessential “tough guy” though, and I think these Balkan dudes are tougher than people realize.

Not the same aesthetic as a Joey Tugler, but I think we see plenty of toughness this season, imo.

We have an open slot on the roster, but I doubt that we have the available NIL to buy a difference-maker.
