That was fun to watch.

We obviously didn't get to see a couple of the new guys, but put me on the Mirk train. I look forward to seeing him the most.

From what I had heard during all the recruiting, he was the one I was most interested to see. I remember seeing a survey somewhere about who the fans were most excited to see this year. I've been looking forward to Mirk the most.

Super impressed with D Mirk! He has a chance to be a beast. Impressed by the early play of V ivisic and also the freshmen duo; they looked really steady. Kylan had a very solid game. Missing our best player and two others who are expected to be really good I come away really excited after this one. I know ISU was missing players as well, but we looked really good.

The only complaints being our FT shooting and pick setting. Those are frustrating because they are mental mistakes, and can be a lot better with coaching and attention to detail. But, don't want to be overly critical this early. Really looking forward to seeing the full team play!

I called for an 18 point blowout. I'm glad to be wrong in the correct direction. Based on what the half-team looked like today, this is going to be a VERY good team. After putting on my Orange shades for clarity, it's clearly a Final Four season or bust...

Lee and Mirk exceeded expectations. Wagler didn’t live up to the hype. OK but he was so hyped up looked for more. May get it next game. Overall solid performance with missing pieces.

Mirk was impressive. Z as well. Ben is going to have real competition at the 4, which bodes well for the team, though I would note that Ben was 3rd on team in efficiency and 2nd in +/- so I think Brad is still going to like him more than some of the fans. Looking forward to see how this shakes out against better competition when it counts.

Very impressed with Mirkovic. This guy is Big Ten ready now. I'll take the trade between Mirkovic and Morez any day. We are going to be hearing a lot of his name this year. Wagler and Lee were also impressive additions. Love Wagler's finesse but Lee is a real bulldog. Must have went to the same school as Andre Feliz. With 3 of our "other" best players out, my biggest concern is how we are going to weave all this talent together. Not a bad problem to have .....

So...

Talent evaluation..

Mirk looks like he's going to far exceed what we thought...
Big Z is going to be very valuable (with a few hiccups)...
Wagler looks the part for a Freshman...
Lee looks like a high motor guard...

The staff is winning on its evaluations. 1 game, I get it, and as we play better competition they will be tested.

But what they are seeing, talent wise and fit wise looks spot on.
