Bret's gonna chew on some people at half time like a hungry pit bull with a new ox bone. Luke, Beatty, Clement, Rosiek, and a few others came to play, too many sleep walked through that half, especially on defense. Expecting much better after the break.
I expected them to be much better before the break.

I think he's probably referencing the screens that were set up perfectly, but he put no touch on the ball and they both got batted down/almost picked.
Whatever the cause, which primarily to me seems a lack of protection and time, balls have been heading toward the red team way too much tonight.

It's because of the shadows from the lights on our first night game since the beginning of the season. Shadows are scaring our guys.

Like Brett said. "22 is a good player, we have to do our jobs n we will be alright" He is talking to our RBs in pass protection. Luke isn't the issue. If they send more than we have in the line then RBs and TEs better block because Luke will hit our guys up they get open.

Plus maybe toss a few screens to Valentine. Beaty or others in space to slow em down.

When one wonders why we have a hard time keeping fans engaged during a season games like this over the years are the answer. Whether we are good or bad we seem to piss away at least 1 game a year to a team we shouldn’t lose to.

I seriously don't mind losing. But in game 11, is it too much to ask to just look competent? I mean, all three phases have looked like a Lovie coached team. I love BB, and know he is the right guy. But he is not surrounding himself with people who can recruit and prepare a team to play consistently at a high level. Yes, we have 7 wins, but they are against pretty bad teams; maybe with the exception of USC. He has to realize this and make some changes in the offseason.

If we don't upgrade coaches in a few places this offseason, Illinois is not really serious about football.

We have the pile of cash. Time to spend it.
Bs, Brett has a good staff but players need to grow up and do the job. I have zero doubt they have been told what to do.
Brett wasn't complaining about his assistants but players need to do the damn job

Time for BLJ to earn his paycheck. Seems like Badgers' D is really revved up and aggressive... now's time for some misdirection and maybe even some trickeration... which may also shake us out of our slumber.

To be fair, every team seems to piss away a game a year.

We are inconsistent in games and between games. Sometimes I wish our team was as steady and easy to predict as Lunney's first down calls.

But sometimes we come out hot and other times flat. Sometimes we look reasonable on defense and sometimes we just don't play defense. It makes it harder to be a fan.

Tbh, I don’t think we’ve ever looked reasonable on defense.

I’m biased though, because I just can’t stand “bend but don’t break” as a philosophy in general

I think a 28-13 win is still do-able. Gotta get down to business.
I hope, but we would need to score on every possession for that to happen and pitch a shut out.
