I'm trusting there is no letdown against the Buckeyes in our next game, and the Illini don't take them too lightly. In the Underwood era, we have had more talented teams than OSU every year, yet Brad has struggled at times against them. I still check under my rack each night to see if the Boogeyman, in the guise of EJ Liddell, is lurking there to give me nightmares. Let's crush these Bucknuts.

Good news, looks like our game against Nebraska is as well.

This is my source by the way- NBC Sports Schedule: Watch Live & Upcoming and Replay Events - NBC Sports https://share.google/cyUyYIMMW5e4yMGSJ
I am pleasantly surprised (and confused) that NBC chose to do this... I rolled the dice and opted not to renew Peacock when they didn't provide a Black Friday deal. Looks like I won't need it anymore... you have to figure they will put our two spring Peacock games (vs. Wisconsin and Oregon) on NBCSN as well.

That $20/yr Black Friday deal was great, but nowadays since IndyCar moved over to Fox, the only thing I was watching on Peacock was the couple Illini games every year - so deciding to not renew and turn down the $50/yr cancellation offer was easy.

OSU currently leads the nation in 2pt% at 65.5%.
That said, they have played nobody (FIVE games against sub-230 teams) and their defense is very meh. Their best win is at Northwestern. As they say, any conf road win is a good win, but that’s not a very good good win.
Illini should handle business and my first sentence will no longer be true on Weds.

Basically Peacock failed, so this is their way of picking up all those cable subscribers they left behind. Because Comcast is a cable company who temporarily decided ditching cable was the right thing to do, bunch of geniuses.

I don't know if I'd say Peacock failed per se. Them losing the WWE content is going to hurt now that it'll mainly be on Netflix so they're trying to get more into other properties. They still have Premier League soccer on there so they won't be hurting too bad.

Don't really know if Ohio St is any good. Beat ND by 1 at home, lost at Pitt by 1, and have played a bunch of nobodies outside of that. Not very impressive. We need to win this one.

Before the season, I had us going 3-2 in our TTU, Bama, UConn, Tennessee, OSU stretch. Which I felt would have been a pretty solid start.

Get this one and I think we're fully back into the 2 or 3 seed discussion. Not to mention, if we want to keep pace with Purdue and the Michigans this is the type of 50/50 game we gotta have.
Dude you and I see things exactly the same way. We need to be ahead of at least Purdue (they could send Michigan to Philly?) to get the dream path

In full transparency, I haven't watched OSU this year. But they return 50% of their minutes from a bubble team. They have one of the best players in the league if not the country. And they are playing at home.

Just looking at their analytics, it's an interesting match up. Here's the stat to know, they have the best 2p% in the country. We have the 26th 2p defense. We have the 22nd 2p% in the country. They have the 180th 2p defense.

They're going to win some games. I'd be surprised if it's not a battle.

Ohio State is also 27th nationally in rebound rate, though as others have noted they haven't really played anyone

We are 14th nationally in rebound rate vs a much, much tougher schedule... 4 of our 9 games have been against #5, #11, #11, #13

Illinois is the better team, but its a conference road game so be ready for Ohio State to give max effort and maybe expect a similar whistle as we got vs Tenn

Also, sometimes that first game vs very good competition can be jarring as you've calibrated yourself to your previous opponents... hope that can be somewhat of an advantage for us in the first few minutes

This might be a hot take...winning this game would be more impressive to me than the Tennessee win.

Tennessee win will almost certainly look better on our resume at the end of the year, but we had a whole week to prepare for them. This is our 3rd straight game away from home. We just played a very physical, hard fought game, and we only got 2 days off.

If we can find a way to pull this out, it shows a team that is completely locked in.

Also the general goal at the beginning of the conference schedule is to go undefeated at home and 5-5 on the road. This year IMO the home slate is very manageable, but the road games are shaping up to be really tough.

@tOSU
@PSU
@Iowa
@NW
@Purdue
@Neb
@MSU
@USC
@UCLA
@Maryland

I think most would agree that tOSU is one the 5 easier road games. So in a way, we would already fall behind the 8-ball with a loss.

I would be thrilled if we went 7-3 in these road games, satisfied with 6-4...and somewhat disappointed at 5-5

I didn’t see the Tennessee game. Why did Petro play so little and what should we expect moving forward. I want to see him get more tick…

What does it mean that the game is also on YouTube TV? YTTV isn’t a streamer or a network — it’s essentially a cable provider. I have YTTV, so this development, whatever it means, piques my interest.
