The playoff committee is a joke. They have 2 basic requirements to qualify. #1 You must play in the SEC. #2 Your name on the jersey must be Alabama! Alabama could go 6-6, and make the playoffs. This is a total embarrassment that this committee had the balls to put a 3 loss team in the playoffs especially after they were manhandled by Georgia.

Still wild to me that a team that lost to a very meh NIU team in 2024 and got in the playoff and made it to the finals, is now so upset they won't even play in the coolest bowl game.

You get to sacrifice a sentient breakfast treat if you win!

I hope they never make the playoffs again.

James Madison - Tulane for the 'ship with both coaches leaving at the end would be cinema. It will never, ever happen. But would be so funny.
IU - JMU would be entertaining, but I don't think JMU is making it past TT (or OR for that matter).

I’m just glad we’re fighting over who the 10th or 11th best team in the country is that should be in the playoffs instead of being back when a team could actually win all their games and then not have a chance to win the championship.

As it is, you go 10-2 and don’t win a major conference, you’re leaving it up to the selection committee to make a choice. BYU, Utah and Vandy are all in the exact same boat ND is in but, you don’t hear them pitching a hissy fit.

Worse than that they are literally changing the rules so that a ND ranked 12 or higher is automatically in.

There's no reason to join a conference anymore for them. I know who I am rooting against now, heh.

Lol they absolutely are, especially Texas. The controversy isn’t ND’s tantrums… it’s that they were ahead of Alabama, then mysteriously dropped below them last week after Bama’s unconvincing win vs Auburn. Then Bama stayed above them despite getting blown out. AND THEN Miami jumping them from behind this week. ALL OF THIS while they were beating the snot out of teams. Pretty fair argument if you ask me.

time for the B1G to make a final big push for ND. they need us
the ball is in NDs court . they need to contact Pettiti . The B1G office will NEVER call them first . contact always needs to be initiated by the school .

25 years ago or so, whenever it was when there was talk last about thrm joining , they contacted Delaney & assured him they wanted in . Someone else on ND board leaked it , it got out & there was an irish revolt & they reversed their decision . it so upset Delaney that he went public saying ND would never get another chance while he was in charge

I can’t tell if you’re being serious or or not
Half and half. Obviously Notre Dame is good year in and year out, but teams such as Nebraska and USC, both of whom whose fan bases thought they’d come in and dominate the B1G, have learned the hard way that there are very few gimmes on the conference schedule.

If ND turns it back on the ACC which conference would support them. With SEC going 9 games That would be a tough game to add to their schedules

I am not sure how scUM or MSU feels if they would want that game back

Maybe the Big XII or maybe the old PAC 12

End of the day the conference is going to take take care of the conference

Yeah, absolute pick me mentality from Notre Dame after ACC compromised helping them fill out their FB schedule every year.

Bite the hand that feeds.

Notre Dame was a perfect fit for the B1G back when the conference was Midwestern-based. Geographically, its location was perfect and certain rivalries had already been established. But Notre Dame saw itself as a national brand and preferred independence. And that’s all well and good as it has mostly worked out for them.

But now, at a time where it appears the Irish might need a conference affiliation in the new CFP era, the major conferences are also national brands. Whereas ND might’ve been a perfect fit 10-15 years ago, the B1G now has coast-to-coast reach. Other than being recognizable brand, the Irish likely wouldn’t add to the television markets that say, a Colorado or a Texas Tech — regions with no B1G presence — might desire. I’m not saying the B1G wouldn’t necessarily be interested in adding Notre Dame, just that there are more factors at play now than there were before the arrival of the B1G Network.
