Basically, different year, same old situation with a loss at home we needed to win. Brad is an excellent coach, but we'll never be a top tier team under him unless we stop losing games we should win.

Fred absolutely owns Brad and has routinely out coached him in games where Illinois has had huge talent advantages.

This outcome was absolutely not a surprise.

I am tired of pretending. I think Brad Underwood is a low IQ basketball coach. Roster construction: great. Culture: pretty good most of the time. Gameplay and execution? F-. He helped us get relevant but he is a bad coach. I’m so exhausted watching him get outcoached CONSTANTLY. Did anyone know that Illinois has no won 3 consecutive quad 1 games since the Ayo-Kofi year? That’s ridiculous. I love Brad as a man but he can’t coach a team with the ceiling that a team like this has. Rant over.

Disappointment and heartbreak return. Neb earned it and really looked like the better team most of the game. We took some punches but lost another one at the line and with breakdowns in communication.

Nebraska is for real, but remember that they got 5 points on that BS technical and 2 more on that phantom foul on Tomi. Now to see how many Crying Illini pissants act like this was a 15-point loss

Both things can be true: 1) All of the things you mentioned above, and 2) This team got outcoached, were unprepared, played lazy, pathetic defense, and has guys that consistently make some of the dumbest mistakes you will ever see.

I will say this: we need a change in whoever is doing the scouting. Woefully unprepared a few times this year.

I cannot believe 5-foot-nothing Hoiberg snagged that defensive rebound off his own shot in winning time. Unacceptable.

I woulda pressed more on that last possession. Chance for a turnover, and if they break it for an easy two, you still have time for a last chance to tie or win.

I had so little faith that our defense was gonna stop them that I wanted them to foul immediately.

How do you let a guy get 28 points in a half before you adjust? How do you play a whole half with Ben or Jake on the court at all times? How do you have Z, Ben and Jake on the court together for numerous minutes? How do you let Nebraska score 83 points?

We are who we are, I don’t see this team doing anything again this year. Disappointing, but I think this is the ceiling with Brad. We’ll get a 3-5 seed and drop our second round game unless someone goes on a crazy heater like TJ did.

We played great. Nebraska played out of their minds. You can’t do anything about that.
