I was told on TV it seemed like it shouldn't have counted because the overlay shows 0 for 0.9 and under, but they looked at it during break and I guess he got it off somehow... had to have been very close

My wife said the same thing. why did it count? Shot clock was at 0. I said it was out of his hand before the buzzer....

They have injuries but we spanked them like they did 🤣

If they win a Natty, Tommy can spike that mf’er like a football for all I care.

if you just posted this pic with his facial expression I would’ve guessed it was snapped mid-swing as he pummeled it onto the hardwood

I sort of agree. Worried about what's the deal w Petrovic.
I thought it was good to limit Petro not to feel pressured in such a lively atmosphere. He came in the game with an immediate turnover.

He corrected that by slowing down and focusing on setting up the shooter. That short sequence I believe will give him an image of success he was probably lacking (ie thinking he has to be KW or KB).

He should probably be a 0 points, 10 assists, 2 steals type of player this year. (Exaggerated)

I don't want this to come across as negative following a 43 point drubbing but Brad has got to figure out how to play Petrovic and in a game Boswell only played 22 minutes it seems criminal Petrovic played 2 minutes.

I don't really understand what Petrovic has done to deserve being in the doghouse and they simply won't beat good teams playing Davis and Humrichous at the same time.
Does he though? Petro can only play the 1. Wagler plays at his best when he is the 1. Would rather have Wagler or Petro on the court right now? Pretty simple answer to me. I’m sure Keaton will have bad games and that’s where Petro can step up.

As for Ben and Jake, they make winning plays even if it’s not filling up the stat sheet. Ty will probably come in and take most of Jake’s minutes, but until then their defensive effort alone is enough for me to be happy they are getting good minutes.

Streams of consciousness:

The TV play clock and court clock was way off.

I don’t think Mihailo is in a doghouse per se, I believe the injury set him back especially getting on campus late. He cannot usurp KW and Bam at this point. Gives him time to work on some stuff before B1G play starts.

If for some reason KW does not go in the draft, better pony up some NIL money for him. I’m sure a familiar coach two states over will make a run at him.

Couldn’t agree more … It’s about showing up mentally f’ing ready … Every game … Not just every other game …

Be an EDG … Every loose ball is ours … Set the f’ing tone from the tip … Lock in defensively … Crash the flippin glass …

If we do those little things … The shots will fall enough where we will win most of, if not all of our games …
And this why some of us were pissy after Nebraska. Every game--no excuses.

It was an impressive shot and definitely made it feel like he was about to go off. You could tell the whole place got a little tense (PTSD vibes, lol). Funny enough, that shot at 14:25 in the first half ended up being his only points of the game.

Yup it got pretty quiet when he hit that shot

I said yesterday we had to limit Crews to under 7 three point attempts

We went back to our old defensive approach of lots of drop coverage and filling gaps when guys leak out to the 3 point line, forcing tough 2s... it proved to be (more than) effective outside of the first several mins of the game... wonder if we'll stay with that approach moving forward or if it was just a change-up for this particular game due to the scout

Pepe he gave mizzou a TO that lead to 2 points immediately upon his entry into the game. He had a nice dish for an open 3 after the TO.
Petro's playing time is all on him to figure out.

While the TV announcer apparently was not great, the PA announcer may have been into the holiday egg nog prior to last night’s game. A couple times said a foul was on the opposite team, called Davis Daniels once, said it was 9th team foul when it was the 10th and then just tossed in the towel and said nothing when the refs reviewed the one foul they changed from two to three shots. All in all, pretty entertaining as it kept the crowd guessing long after the outcome had been decided.

Go play yourselves into a Quad 1 for us miznoz.
Haha, they just dropped from #67 to #92 in the NET after what we did to them, so that seems unlikely! :ROFLMAO: I'm guessing this one ends up as Quad 3 (i.e., Mizzou falls out of the top 100), but that is okay ... we have more opportunities for resume-building wins, and it's ALWAYS nice to beat Missouri before Christmas no matter how bad they are!
