I was in a Memphis bar tonight, PACKED with TN fans. 4 ILL fans (wife and 2 good friends), 2 Memphis U fans that hated TN. Glorious win although buddy wouldn’t let me shout ILL as I walked out as he lives near, and frequents, this bar. Respect it. Walked the long way out the door. 217 representing in the 901.

Did I miss Feagin being hurt or was he just not getting the touches? I couldn’t hear anything where I was at. TIA!

I don’t think he was hurt. Just the other RBs were producing. IIRC, he picked up a big 3rd down late in the game.
That conversion was ALL FEAGIN. Looked like very little push upfront. He finally did the thing where he remembered he's 265 and built like a heavyweight boxer and drove the pile forward.

That run was shades of McCray. Really hope he embraces that moving forward!

Who is everyone's underclassmen/potential returner pick for next year's team?

(In the vein of Beatty showing out last year vs. USC)

Feels like Knapik stepping up could be a HUGE benefit as we continue to retool the line. (I know we'll still hit the portal for OL)

I know the game plan was to control the clock, which Illinois did extremely well. But I thought the defense with few exceptions played well and did not give up any huge plays.
The game was won by the last possession of each team in the first half, IMO. They had a nice long drive but missed a relatively easy but against the wind FG which hurt their momentum a lot IMO. We then took over possession at the site of the missed FG with about 3 min and drove right down the field with the help of two 15 yard penalties into position for an easier, with the wind FG which we made. Essentially a 6 point swing (up 3 when we easily could have been down 3) and we go into half feeling pretty good about things.

Earlier each team had a nice drive for 7 that equaled out. in the second half we also each had a TD for 7 each that equaled out, but we sandwiched in another FG for a 6 point lead which limited them to a one point lead with plenty of time for Luke to work with (and end up purposely running down to 3s). If we missed one of the FGs or they had hit theirs, it would have been a 4 point lead for them late and much tougher for Luke to time manage.

Will this win get us into the final top 25 poll?? I would hope so....
I've been doing that math over the past half hour. Sorta looking like NOT. However, we don't know exactly where the Committee had us ranked. If we were #26, we're clearly IN. Plus, there are a few more bowl games yet to be played. We should pass USC if they lose. We're definitely ahead of all these teams:
- Tenn
- Mizz
- Tulane
- GaTech
- JMU
- Pitt
- Duke

When they returned the KO for a touchdown my adult sons said ah !!!!. We’re screwed. I says hell no. Got them right where we want them they were probably gonna score so why run 4/5 minutes off then we have to scramble for a field goal. Either way I figured if the scored and left us with a minute we’d win. I told my kids we’ll either score or run the clock down and kick a field goal.
This game felt like ours the whole game. We were moving the ball. Our defeats playing as good as it had all season.
Never a doubt

I have vacationed a lot in the Pigeon Forge area during football season. The locals are totally nuts about Tennessee football. This loss was probably a bitter pill to swallow for the locals.
They didn’t care at all about this minor bowl game … until they took the lead with five minutes left … but then at the end of the game they remembered that they didn’t care at all. 🤣
