How sick am I? Home with the flu today and have the Penn State game on.

I think I’d rather be at work.

Watching the Pen State game while for the beloved. There is no one or hardly anyone watching PSU. They aren't that good.

Iowa is very well-drilled on offense. Nothing overly complex, but they just keep repeating what they do until they get a guy going downhill to the basket.

Working this afternoon but listening to Virginia Tech v. #21 Virginia. Looked up the VT stats and saw that Amani Hansberry is their leading scorer (16.2 ppg), and rebounder (8.4 rpg, and has the most minutes per game (~ 31). Nice to see he's found a productive home there with Chester, who's the HC-in-waiting there under Mike Young. Will see them in action v. Notre Dame in Blacksburg in a couple weeks.

Somewhat off-topic, but Virginia Tech’s hoops play by play guy is a friend and former colleague of mine. When he was in high school (and already sounded pretty much like he does now), I’d move from play by play to color for our radio broadcasts so he could get some additional reps. He was doing Iowa baseball and subbing for Gary Dolphin on basketball broadcasts while he was still a student at Iowa.

Zach Mackey? That's cool. And I went to grad school at UIUC in '89-'90 with the guy who had been Herky the Hawkeye a couple while a student at Iowa. Great guy with whom I wish I'd kept in touch.

Yep, Zach and I go back almost a decade. We all knew he’d go places as a broadcaster. Absolute natural talent. His dad Travis was the AD at Geneseo High School for a long time.

Amani shooting 50% from the floor coming into this game, Seven first half boards today but 1-8 from the field in the 1H. Yikes.

Clemson and Cuse in a good one with under a minute left on ESPN2

Edit: 42 on Cuse with the block of the season so far...
