My goodness. Anyone who actually shares this view, I think you’re just better off learning your fate that you’ll never be happy. We literally won a BIG game by 26 — game was legitimately over in the first 10 minutes, never below 20 points in the second half. And we covered (line was 22.5).

What a joyous existence.
How would you assess the second half of this game? Just asking

Indy Illini Fan add a tally to Tomi having another game with under 5 rebounds

Great win. Did what was expected against an overmatched opponent.

Purdue had UW dead and buried after 10 mins last night and was up big at the half. Then coasted in the 2nd half, played lots of bench, and won by 8.

It happens.

- I've been Petros biggest fan...however, I just dont think he can play an all around game that works at this level. Small, no defense, soft and passive. Its a shame, but I may have to sell my stock. I was so hopeful...but I think I may just have been wrong
I think if he sticks around the states in college, he can make an impact somewhere that'll allow him to the primary ball handler. Maybe mid major for a season.....but he's not gonna have NIL offers lining up IMO and could wind back up overseas. That impact is very likely not here this season with Wagler/Bos able to handle the ball 40 minutes between them (unless substantial injuries strike). Even then I think they'd go thru David more.

Petro is just a zero playing off ball (among deficiencies) when he's in there with Wagler/Bos. Illini have PLENTY of better off the ball players.

Not the same ol’ Bears 😉

(Regardless of the outcome, we’ll all be biting our nails for 3+ hours)
Glad to have the rivalry back. Johnson is a hell of a coach and I always thought Williams was the guy. Good luck, my friend.

I actually thought Petro made some plays tonight where he got to the right spots and just wasn’t used to playing.

He broke down the defense and tried to hit Davis, but he had a layup. And then he had a layup in transition which I really thought was just a lack of minutes.

With Boswell and Keaton this isn’t relevant really. But oddly, I was lukewarm on him tonight and didn’t think it awful or someone who looked overwhelmed

Bears > Packers, that aside I did like the “Drink Wisconsinably” tag. Is that a new thing? I’ve not seen it before and I’m up there pretty often on Spotted Cow / cheap gas runs from McHenry County.

OMG, just because someone points out that we are playing sloppy in the 2nd half and that Brad might be justified in being a little upset at a time out and people think we lost our minds. Two things can be true: I can enjoy a 26 point blowout and I can be proud of this team and also point out that we are playing sloppy on the 2nd half (which we were). It doesn't mean I don't love the Illini and this team. Get a grip people, it's a message board and people point out what's going on and how they are feeling. If you don't like it, you can block me or continue on reading other posts that fit your your view and ignor mine. Or keep complaining, I really could care less. Pardon me for being Mr. Obvious and pointing out that we were not playing up to par in the 2nd half after an amazing 1st half.
I want to be respectful here understanding that we’re all fans, but IMO some of the negative stuff has a tendency to become low effort and a bit of a dog pile a lot faster than positive stuff here.

For example on the flip side, if every time Jake Davis hit a 3 I came here and said Jake Davis is one of the best players, then someone else followed me up and said he should be MVP, then someone else came along and said he’s the next Lebron James, I feel like it would be natural for someone else to come along and say okay buddy let’s settle down.

Idk maybe that’s a stupid comparison who cares post what you want it’s an anonymous fan board either way go illini

Both of his passes to Davis were so off target he was lucky to keep them in bounds, let alone get a shot.

I appreciate that. I made one response to someone who said Brad was mad at a timeout. I simply said that I thought Brad's response was appropriate because we were playing poorly in the 2nd half. I didn't harp on it and still thoroughly enjoyed the game. Then I got dogged piled for it. Aftet that my comments were defending myself for my one comment. You would have thought I had made a comment about their momma.

Since the Nebraska game, Torvik has us as the #2 ranked team in the country with (get this) the #3 ranked defense in the country.

Purdue is #1 in that time frame, Michigan #3, and Iowa #8.
How can Iowa be 8 after losing at minny?

Meh. I don’t remember the second one, ill take your word on it.

The first one was off target because it had to be. Jake was expecting him to shoot (rightfully so, he had a layup after he broke down the defense) and so he had to throw it to a spot the defense wasnt.

Again, not some glowing praise of Petro tonight. Just thought it looked more rust and now overwhelmed. Granted, I know that’s a far cry from our initial hopes.

Dominating performance against a uninspired ru team culminating with the Illini D holding ru scoreless for the last 8 + minutes of the first half while running off a 20-0 offensive outburst was very impressive accomplishment........the second half was just maintaining control of the game for a 26 point win.....

Waglar with impressive all around game with 17 pts , 7 rebs , 3 A.............
Stoja.......12 pts ,8 rebs.........
Tomi.....14 pts , 4 rebs..............a more aggressive game , but still looks out of shape....
Jake with 4 threes.................

expected win but great last 8 minutes of 1st half..............call you later babe...................

That's just how good they've been playing. The Minny result moved them from #4 to #8. (Again, just looking at that post-Nebraska timeframe.)

Like us, they haven't had the hardest schedule over that period but Torvik is opponent adjusted so not sure how much that matters.

Just so people know, they beat 3 really bad teams (#261, #314, #286 on KP) by 40, 55, and 38 points.

Let's be real for a sec.

If you are truly drinking "Wisconsinably" you are either......

A. So smashed at the bar you can't get to your _________ (car, snowmobile, bathroom)
B. Driving the wrong way on the highway
C. In Jail
