Speaking of #2, I don't recall anyone mentioning this (other than I did before). We were down 9 with 1 minute left. Frankie made a game winning layup, as Minnesota gifted us that possession. This directly led to us being in a 4-way tie for the conference championship (3-way after OSU was forced to vacate their part). Duke had just beat Maryland down 10 with 1 minute left the year before. This game was the hook, line, and sinker for my extreme fandom. It's #3 on my list:
#1 2005 Arizona
#2 2001 Minnesota
#3 This beauty
The best part of that play is the dead silence as the ball goes thru. U can hear the swish of the ball thru the net on the tv broadcast.Today is Wagler's day. I am totally on board. As far as the best game ever the Nick Anderson 3 at Indy with a second left might be my favorite game. March 5,1989 ( I had to look up the date.) The screaming Looser fans all went silent at the same moment.
He just feels bad about what he did to Purdue.Watching the post game and Keaton sounds sick too...has the sniffles for sure. I love this kid.
Wagler gave kudos to “the bigs” and there is something to that. If you are one of the best offensive rebounding teams in basketball, your shooters have the luxury of shooting without as much fear. You can see how comfortable all of our guys are shooting. Even our bigs are confident that the other bigs will have their back on the boards.Found this from a Purdue fan on Redditt
'To put in perspective how rare that kind of game is, I looked into some game logs for Steph Curry. Ya' know, just the greatest three point shooter in the history of the game. Even by relaxing the criteria quite a bit to >65% from three on 8 or more attempts, Steph has just 40 such games in the 1,000+ he has played in his NBA career. Make it match Wagler today (11+ attempts on >80% shooting from three) and you get one game. You read that right. One. Game."
Watching K-R’s face down the stretch and knowing Purdue fans were going home cold, with a loss, and no nuggets was very satisfying.Amusing watching Kaufman-Renn and / or "plowboy" Cluff trying to guard Wagler 25 ft. from the basket. For PU, it's the match up from hell. really entertaining.
AJ Dybantsa had 43/6/3 today.
Kingston Flemings had 42/6/2 today.
While great performances, neither are particularly close to being the best performance today.
Great Twilight Zone episode! Fitting perhaps, I think Keaton was in his own Twilight Zone
If you or anyone else ever thinks ESPN would put Illinois/Wagler/beating Purdue as a headline over the highest paid freshman, or a kid from Texas Tech...you're crazy! They just talked about both on the TCU/Baylor game. No mention of Wagler because they are in the B12...lolAJ Dybantsa had 43/6/3 today.

TKR looked a like a d-bag the entire game, which ended how it should for d-bags...Always respected TKR but thought he got away with a lot of pushing. Refs got their whistle stuck.
And against the best opponent43 on 24 shots for Dybantsa
42 on 26 shots for Flemings
46 on 17 shots for Wagler
All ridiculous performances but Keaton was by far the most efficient.
To go down memory lane for once: when's the last time anyone in a CBB game had this great a performance? This isn't me saying it hasn't happened, but when's the last time it's happened? Any player included.Keaton today = Most points scored against a top ten team in NCAA history!…unbelievable!
he was running his mouth at Mirk BIG TIME in the beginning of the gameTKR looked a like a d-bag the entire game, which ended how it should for d-bags...
If there is some high school kid in America, shooting lights out on his farm with a peach basket nailed to the barn and an underinflated ball with the tread worn off, Tyler will find him and Brad will suit him up. Keaton may be the best diamond in the rough find by any coaching staff ever in the history of college basketball.
I dunno… I’m an Illini fan and I was as equally stunned. The entirety of Mackey Arena, including Purdue's team and excluding Illini fans, watching Keaton and our boys down the stretch:

He really, really, really did.TKR looked a like a d-bag the entire game, which ended how it should for d-bags...
Ha! What a bunch of hypocritical p***ies! They had their all-conference senior point guard, and still couldn't win at home.
