CBS is predicting #15, which seems extremely punitive, but makes the point that the top 10 crashed last week with teams ready to move up all won.

I'll say #14. The optics of a loss to Wisconsin isn't great, though us from the Midwest an fans of the Bug 10 understand the chaos they cost.

This'll be fun, there are a ton of teams people will be BIG MAD if we're behind.

MSU, Nebraska, Kansas, Florida, Gonzaga, Purdue.

15 is surely the floor, but I think it might be pretty close to that, we'll see. Vibescore and Kenpomcore voters look at us pretty differently.

We lost by 3 in OT at msu without KB
We lost by 2 in OT at Home to wiscy without KB or AS

If those things were taken into account, plus the fact that KB is back and AS won't be far behind, then we are realistically a Top 4 team.

But they won't, so 10.

Kansas and MSU both lost big this week. I wouldn't be overly surprised if Illinois is somewhere in the 8-10 range.

A lot of carnage in the top 25 this week might force voters to stop and think a little more than usual. Everything about us says we're a top 10 team. And we may not get penalized as much for losing in OT to a Wisconsin team who went on to demolish MSU later in the week.

I'll say 9.

Considering the other game results this week, I don't see how lllinois moves from 8.

The floor is more like 12 because of all the teams behind us that also lost. UNC, MSU, KU. I think Florida should jump us and possibly Purdue because of the week they had. #10 seems right considering we only lost by 2 in OT to a Wisconsin team that deserves to be ranked this week.

Feels like a lot of voters just look at the ‘5’ in the loss column and automatically downgrade. We’ll see.

Well, that should mean something. We shouldn't have lost to Wisconsin AND MSU. 22-4 and obviously 23-3, vs 21-5(and teams well behind us have 5 losses), there's a bias. Gonzaga is ranked higher even after losing to freaking Portland based on record alone.

Obviously, we know we were significantly short handed. Outsiders do not and most sportswriters take about a half hour to complete this weekly exercise. We were 1-1 losing to an unranked team, at home. Not a great look for those who don't pay attention.....and the media doesn't.
