Yaxel is a tough defender with size. Michigan is as big as Illinois but more quicker and athletic.

Yaxel winning his matchup with Wagler so far. You can tell he wanted that matchup personally to prove he is the best player in the B1G.
It's because they are. Have to balance that out by our bigs being able to stretch the floor and it isn't happening. The x factor, for us, is the three. 3 of 14 isn't going to cut it.
Yeah mismatch hunting has been a lot harder this game (UM has so many good defenders) but this was a good one. Gotta try to create this matchup more often.

We aren’t getting anything from anyone but Boswell and a little from Mirk.
I mean, they are. They remind me a bit of UConn from 2 years ago but they don’t have the NBA guards that UConn had. But similar size where they can switch everything and they got Mara who plays a bit like Clingan at the rim.
You basically need to be on fire from 3 to beat this team. And they really haven’t given us many open ones even the bigs on that pass back from the high screen are getting covered up fast
Stat sheet says they are doing it at the FT line. Need better D and Waglerman to hit shots. Stars gotta be stars to beat Michigan...they are using their physicality very well and getting the breaks. Not sure how Morez gets to jump on Jake's back to dunk.
Turnovers are about even, but we won't win if we go above 4 in the second half. They have forced us into several of those but theirs are mostly sloppy play which is their norm. Need to make that an advantage and we need to hit a couple of consecutive treys to get things evened up.

Teams have become more physical with him recently and it is clearly impacting him.
