1. Don't have the athletes to defend teams that do. 2. Boswell 's shot is so broken they're sagging and it's not spreading the floor. 3. We don't play inside out enough.
I agree with the overall athleticism not being of elite level and it really shows up in the paint defense and our drives to the basket. We are a good team but will need off nights by more athletic teams for us to advance on the big stage.

Underwood’s post game pressers are so bad. Never critical when we play horrible. So passive. Is he trying not to hurt anybody’s feelings? Nobody is learning from this loss lol

First of all, Michigan is fantastic. They do EVERYTHING at a championship level. Give them credit. They are 28-2 or whatever for a reason.

However, our competitive spirit, our fight, our effort, our passion wasn’t there all night. That bothers me a great deal.

Are there X and O things that need to be addressed? Absolutely. Effort is non-negotiable. Andrej and Tomi were embarrassing in the effort department tonight.
Michigan is a great team but why is Landeborg in college? He was a first round NBA draft pick last June. He's 23 years old. I know he got NIL money but what if he got injured like the Toppen player? Something seems off unless they paid him a ridiculous amount of money. Still, you go to the NBA and you shine the money you make dwarfs NIL.

IMO had we won the UCLA game the narratives would be a lot different. Regardless of this result.

The play at the end along with the Coleman Hawkins Penn state foul are the two worst single plays of the underwood tenure (I’d put the Tennessee play a tier below since it was tied).
Or MSU OR Wisconsin. Losing three OT games flipped the narrative a bit.

The one play in the first half that was a precursor for the beatdown was when we had great ball movement and Boswell faked a wide open 3 and passed into a shot clock violation. After that Morez hit a 3. Went from what could have been a tie game to a 6 point deficit. That was the point where I knew it would be uphill battle.

yep GIF

Is this really true though? Didn't insiders say he'd signed a deal and been promised he'd start? And by the end of last season Morez was getting more minutes than Ben, except for games where he got in foul trouble, so again, don't think this rings true.
No it's clearly not true. Only one of the insiders flogs this horse. The fact is that Morez happily signed a contract to play a second year for us, then refused to honor it when UM offered him more money. He broke his second year contract, end of story. The "didn't want to end up like Kofi" nonsense was just likely made up by a know-nothing blogger who has a bad rep. It was just money, that's it. You don't want to waste time on players like that. It turned out OK for UM but usually it doesn't end well for anyone.

Kendall Gill made these same observations during the postgame show, and capped it off by saying if we keep faltering down the stretch, we could conceivably drop to a 6 seed.
Pretty sure Kendall also thinks the Bulls are a solid team.

The BLOBS aggravate me so bad. Everyone else runs plays, our local 3rd grade team runs plays. We post up and lobby over the top.
There’s some logic to, just get it in bounds and run your offense when you score like we have.

That being said, I hope we have something in our back pocket come March because somebody is gonna send an off ball defender to get one of those lobs in bounds.

We need a tough nosed player like him who has a high motor and an athlete. All the top 5 teams have an inside presence. BU needs to recruit a big like him

Shhhhh doesn’t fit the narrative!

What’s the narrative ???

2-4 in our last 6 ??? Getting out 🍑 handed to us on our f’ing home court ??? No toughness … Getting blasted on the glass …

It’s unacceptable !!!!!!! Losing is unacceptable !!!!!

If you want to write some other narrative about how great losing is … That’s on you man …

Also. TSJ at 27 and Ayo at 38 and Wagler top 10 in the best NBA draft of all time is crazy talk. He’s had a great great season but he’s a bit overrated and might not be able to defend in NBA.

You’re right … Teams have bad games … Players have bad games …

And sometimes … It all comes together …

I mean… this team could easily wind up with a better seed. 🤷‍♀️

That team went 15-5 in B10. You know what we’d be if we beat Maryland and Oregon? 15-5.

There wasn’t a team nearly as good as Michigan that year.

I knew that, I did not realize his skill level. He's got more sauce to his game than Zach Edey ever did.
Very true. Mara’s got real skill that should translate to the next level. That said (and yes, this neither here nor there) the best way to capture just how absurdly dominant Edey was is this: he would’ve eaten every single big man in this basketball game with a fork & knife.
