Welcome to the (non-IL) men's college basketball games thread.

I love Championship Week(s). Basketball Nirvana from every conference. As a probable 2 seed, we can see teams who we might be playing in the opening round. Entertaining basketball as we get to see teams that have one goal and that is to play in the Tourney. It’s going to be a fun few weeks.

Championship Week underway with the Horizon League tournament starting tonight. The Sun Belt Conference and Patriot League tournaments start tomorrow night. The OVC, Big South, Missouri Valley, ASUN, Summit League, SoCon, Northeast, CAA, and WCC Tournaments will start later this week.

Iowa State is cooperating with our master plan by looking terrible against Arizona. Arizona is FANTASTIC defensively obviously, but ISU is limited offensively.

Ok, so add Arizona to the list of teams we cant beat. Michigan, Duke, Uconn.

I would say CAN'T beat is going too far because of how we can get on a heater.

That said, we can beat UConn. They'd be in the dream come true bracket of #1 seeds. They aren't on the same level as the others.

If you wanted to add a team that's playing as good, if not better than anyone, I'd look at Florida. They don't look very fun to play right now.

Only five teams have a legitimate shot to win a title-Arizona, Michigan, Duke, UConn, and Florida. It’s going to be an incredibly boring tournament until the Final Four.

IMO -- if you're including UConn, you also need to include Houston (especially considering their recent track record).

To me there's 6 teams that are going to be at least a 2seed: Arizona, Michigan, Duke, UConn, Houston, Florida (this is assuming FLA doesn't lose @Kentucky, which I think is no slouch game).

That leaves the last two 2seed spots between 4 teams: Illinois, Purdue, Iowa State, Michigan State.

I feel like people are just looking at the record with UCONN. Their wins against mediocre/awful teams are about as unimpressive as can be for a 1seed.

Maybe they turn it on come tourney time.... but outside of the St Johns game, that's pretty unimpressive. IMO.

I don’t think Houston can win because their offense isn’t good enough. Defense is great, but at some point you have to be able to avoid long dry spells. That’s what doomed Houston last year.

Okay? But Houston's offense is ranked 14th on kenpom. UConn's is ranked 19th.

Houston averages 118.7 points per 100 poss. UConn averages 117.5 (and plays in a significantly worse conference).

Houston is overrated and has beat nobody. They haven't earned the right to be called a title contender.

UConn will always look a touch unimpressive compared to other contenders, that comes with playing in the Big East.

agree on Houston. Best win vs TT at home and @ BYU with Saunders. Another team helped by 8-0 in quad 2

The other title contenders still looked like title contenders when they played inferior teams- they're all top 6 vs Quad 2+ on Torvik, while UConn is #15. UConn has played well against Quad 1 (ranked #5 on Tovik against those), but betting odds have them in a different tier from the top 3/4:

It seems to me that UI had a 12 game winning streak mostly with K. Boswell not playing. Perhaps that lineup should be starting and KB coming off of the bench?
