Ty has not played in 2 years is he is a wildcard. The offensive system is drastically different than the last time he was on the floor.
Speaking of which, is Ty not going burn his redshirt this year? I thought I heard last that he was coming back in Feb?

Wake people think it's Tech or Illinois...

Clearly I am just behind on the news … Sounds like this is accurate and was a $$ issue … I really like the kids game …

??? Every year we adapt to the players we have. I would not be surprised at all if David Mikovic is our point guard next season. Ty and Andre are the wings and Z and Tomi play 4 and 5. The defense and offense we run is predicated on rebounding. We have no idea how much Ty's 3 pt shooting has improved. But he has some of the best basketball instincts I have ever seen. Particularly when it comes to rebounding.

The offensive system is drastically different every two years either way, but he's for sure an unknown. At the very least he's an athletic defensive stopper who can work around the basket on offense.

Sleepers Media recently did a video discussing who Illinois will try to retain for next year and they're basing it off of a mailbag Q&A that Jeremy Werner did. They said according to Werner's mailbag Q&A Mirk, the Twins, and Jake Davis are at the top of the list for the coaching staff.

As I sit here today … I think those 5 will be back …

But by bringing those 5 back and needing to add other elite talent plus Morillo on the books …

That’s where I question whether AS is a fit or not … Strictly looking at it financially, I think it’s tough to say we couldn’t go upgrade for that kind of $$ …

Retaining Tomi and Z would be HUGE. And a 2nd year Mirk is going to be an absolute force. That's where my priority would be...but I also don't get paid the big bucks. Feels like Jake is an ILL guy through and through.

any chance he would take less money? I assume he was brought in to be the best player on the team this year and that didn't happen. I also assume it's very rare these kids take less money when they don't have to

Yeah, according to Werner the pitch from the staff will be that this year upcoming draft is loaded so for Tomi, Z, and Mirk it will be come back another year, collect more NIL, and enter next year draft. And if Mirk has a monster 2nd year he will play his way into the lottery.

I'd love a core of the Ivisic brothers, Andrej, Ty, Mirk, Morillo, and two veteran guards. I know we probably won't keep all those guys, but I think that's a solid team.
Andrej is averaging 12ppg on 8 attempts while shooting 28% from 3 with 2 FTA in our biggest games. It'd be different if he excelled elsewhere, but he's good for 4 rebounds, a stock and a 1:1.5 TO ratio with a 25% usage.. it's very underwhelming for a team's highest paid player.

Ty has essentially opted out of a 2nd season, I haven't heard that his shot has gotten better and he hasn't grown. He seems like a tweener at the high major level.

Why not put that money towards a wing that can shoot or add something in transition and a dog of a big to complement the Ivisics?

Did they do one on who May was already tampering with?

As of today I’d guess:

Mirk
Jake
Ty
Yeah, I don't see Andrej returning, and the Brothers Ivisic might want more money than they're worth (yeah, I said it). I've heard from others that both Petro and Lee are gone and have had initial discussions with Brad about that. Should be interesting with Tomi at least since I thought he was best buddies with Jake.
