Everyone seemed down on Purdue and for damn good reasons. The wheels has fallen off. People were talking about locker room issues. Amish guard was making bad passes. TKR looked like he didn’t want to be on the court.

Incredible. But also not entirely uncommon in conference tournaments. Also not uncommon would be not making the S16 after that win.

Like I said, the Freaky Friday switch between Purdue and us is taking place right in front of our eyes. If Underwood doesn't get to the Sweet 16 at least, some tough conversations will need to be had about either roster construction or if he's still got the fire to coach, because sitting on his hands talking to his son only and not ever calling a dam* timeout sure doesn't look like he's still got that fire.

Perhaps the funniest instance of a Big Ten team who won 4 straight games and got massive hype was the 2022 Iowa team. Good team that probably should have made it to the Sweet 16 at least, but their hot 4-day stretch had a bunch of experts convinced they were a Final Four team. Unfortunately for them, Richmond happened.

What about our Illini team in 2020-2021? Unofficially we won the Big 10 regular season going 16-4. Because Michigan was permitted not to make up games at the end of the year they were "officially" declared Big 10 champs going 14-3. We brought our A game in the conference tournament and won the 2021 Big 10 tournament. But the next weekend we were really really flat and got "Loyola'd". That team should have gone to the final 4. Brad's best team. Not sure we could have beaten Baylor but who knows. Maybe if we got by Loyola we win it all.
