I'm not on Twitter (because of the Head Twit), but a friend said there's smoke that Carolina is targeting Sean Miller for the job right now. Indy Illini Fan, that's your boy. Any truth?

Brad Stevens took a school most people had never heard of to a national title game. To prove it wasn’t a fluke, he did it again the next year.

What has Scheyer accomplished that would put him on a similar path? He took over a historically good program with no head coaching experience. They’ve won quite a few games (most of which they were favored in) and continue dominating the recruiting pipeline built by previous coaching staffs. Nothing he’s done is impressive

I’m talking about Scheyer leaving CBB for an NBA job then getting into a front office role … Just like Stevens …

Everyone is obviously allowed to have their own career goals, but it would still be funny if Jon Scheyer's career goal is something other than Duke head coach.

Predictions:
- UNC lands Byington, but whispers out there are pointing to Billy Donovan. We'll see.
- Self retires. Kansas lures Oats from Bama. I can't see Otz or McCasland getting that gig. And I think they strike out on May and Lloyd.
- If Will Wade leaves for LSU, how 'bout Chris Collins to NCSU? Crazier things could happen, but it makes sense to get him back to the ACC. Would he take a job as a rival to Duke, though?
- Would Bama get someone like Bucky McMillan or aim much higher? I assume Schertz is a Midwest guy and not a good fit for Alabama.

I don’t disagree on UNC …

Kansas people are just so adamant to me that they’re getting one of May or Lloyd … No matter the cost … And what Kansas wants … They typically get …

I’ve mentioned it on here but I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Schertz has gone silent on other jobs … If May leaves for Kansas or NBA … He’s going to tell Michigan to go get his buddy …

Wade is leaving for LSU … It’s a done deal … NC State I’ve heard is likely to look at Schertz, Shaheen, Richey and Justin Gainey …

I'm throwing up in my mouth that I'm defending Duke/ Punchface Scheyer but come on you gotta give him credit. Continuing comparable success after a legend is close to impossible (Kentucky/UNC and soon to be Kansas. Hell any program would be OVER THE MOON to have their next coach have the success has Scheyer has). Yes he has top 3 resources but you still need to allocate those properly/build a roster/coach that roster to success and he has done that despite this being his first head coaching gig. As much as I hate to say that is impressive. F**K DUKE AND SCHEYER THOUGH!!!

First as an assistant and then as a head coach Scheyer completely changed Duke's program into the apex predator for one-and-done HS recruits, which was never previously Coach K's philosophy in a way that had their talent level on the decline.

That doesn't really translate to NBA coaching at all, but I do think Scheyer is a transformational figure in Duke's history, not just the guy that happened to win the job to succeed Coach K.

But then that makes it even weirder that he'd want to leave. I bet he stays.

I know nothing. I just don't see Scheyer leaving so quickly after being anointed by his mentor, particularly for a franchise that already has a highly successful former college coach failing.

Feel like it'd be different if he was on the hot seat or had already won a ship..

I guess the draw for the bulls is it would be close to where he grew up. The Bulls are garbage franchise and he would probably make more at Duke.

Not sure this has been posted but it’s one of several reasons why I don’t see Billy Donovan going to college if he gets fired

A different way to look at that is Scheyer totally changed how Duke operates, which shows a willingness to be flexible and adapt to different situations. Feels like that would translate well to the NBA.
